My .25 Cricket has been brought back to life!

I bought this cricket knowing that it would not hold air. It would leak out as fast as I was putting it in. Never tried to shoot it. Reached out to Charlie Frear @ Georgia Airguns who tuned my Vulcan a couple of years ago, about doing this cricket.

He did a complete rebuild replacing all seals and performed his power tune on it.

It’s raining here so I won’t be able to go down to the range for a couple of days until it all dries out. However, here are some test results that Charlie did and a chrony print out that I did. Looking forward to poppin prairie dogs with it in a couple months.

At about 34" long and north of 60 FPE this was and still is one of the best platforms available. The regulator on Kalibr guns produce some of the tightest spreads that guns today are trying to duplicate. Six or so years ago there was not many in their class. At north of 70 yards you might want to try the 34 grain pellets. A slight nod goes to original design in my gun.

Kinda... Mark took my tank to fill it and loaned me his which was at 4K. Using his, I got 3 mags plus a few more shots before the FPS dropped to 1000fps.

Reg appears to be set around 110-115. I’ll do a full fill and report back.

He told me he’s been doing some experimental port tuning and it looks like it from here!

I also had him shorten the fill port dust cover spring also. I got tired of nicking probe o rings.

See ya in Malvern!

I bought a bone-stock, brand new in the box, 25 Synthetic Cricket back in the day, from WWAG and still have it. Never had to replace a single oring yet, and its an absolute hammer. Out of the box is shooting JSB 25's at 960 fps. After thousands of shots I never had to adjust my scope, and it still will stack pellets all day. One of my best "feel good" purchases I ever made.

Same here. Charlie set my gun up shooting that same JSB 25.4 @ 960 FPS for WWAG back in 2014.

"One of my best "feel good" purchases I ever made." That's exactly how I've always felt about my .25 Cricket.

Stock gun works so well I don't want to mess with it. I just can't put mine in the mail system for Charlie to power tune it.

Sure wanted to. Seeing the 1000+ FPS velocity your getting is tempting.

Had to replace the barrel Orings in mine after 21,000+ rounds. Maybe 4 weeks ago now.

Now the regulator is so accurate I shot a string after replacing the barrel orings that got to 9 up. That's when I turned the chrony off and put everything away. Because I was sure that my chronograph was broke. Tried a different gun 1/2 hour later. Chrony isn't broke.

The Old Cricket just has a 1 FPS extreme spread. (with slugs) That was a bit hard for me to believe at first.

Now I just laugh at how precision these regulated PCP's can be.
