was an exciting project---Now more versatile and enjoyable to shoot!
18g
High: 865fps 30FPE
med: 705fps 20FPE
low: 545fps 12FPE

Has a smooth twist barrel.

had to bore out the TP on power 2 to get it from 645 to 705fps.

there are set screws in front of wheel to adjust wheel tension and set screw to lock the parts in place like the FX.

Thanks to Roland for the power wheel, he also installing the FX power wheel on the Cricket.

Looks great Ernest!!

On the Cricket Shorty I did, I was able to get 70 shots on high at 850 fps and 140 on low at 518 fps. It was a 250 bar fill with JSB 18.1. I slightly opened the smallest whole to bump low power up from 470 to 518.

Works awesome in barn yards where I always liked to use the FX400 so I could go from high power to low when shots were toward barn metal. Now we can do that with a much more compact gun!!

"sniperlabyo"This mob is to install an FX Royale action power wheel adjuster. OEM Mutant don't have a wheel adjuster.

unless you are a machinist and experience with air guns mechanical parts---> I don't recommend the mod.

I wanted to do this for awhilr now and finially had time. It's a one time deal for my self.

Interesting... Well, I would not do this on my own, however, my best friend owns a Machining shop with the best CNC machines around. Do you mind sharing any drawings? Maybe sell them? I am sure that once I would have some drawings, he could make it happen. : )

Thanks,

Kmd

EDIT: Looking at the pictures again, it reminds me of how I had to limit the power on one of my Dirt Bikes, in order to make it street legal. I simply had to place a plate between the Fuel/Air inlet port and the carb. The plate reduced the diameter from 43mm to 15mm (if I remember correctly). It was literally just a plate. You mod is probably doing the same thing, just not in flat matter, but rather in a round matter. Like a gas valve... I guess.

Thanks,

Kmd

"fe7565"You guys are pushing me closer and closer to buying one! :)

Thanks for sharing Mr. Rowe. Question: what was wrong with the original barrel? Wasn't it a CZ? If it was a CZ, why is a smooth twist barrel better in this case?
Thanks for sharing more awesome work from the Sniper lab!

I too, am curious about why you chose a smooth twist barrel. I think everyone knows I really like the FX smooth twist, but I've heard rave reviews for the CZ barrel also. If your gun originally came with a CZ, did it not perform up to the standard of the smooth twist or was it some other reason for changing the barrel?

Thank you again Ernest, I love reading your posts, keep em coming!!

This mutant is the 1st batch that came with the korean Barrel. accuracy was OK but can be better and faster.

I love the smooth twist, I can machine it without the brass TP that has a lip between the 2 metal. so it a smooth taper the insertion for the pellet.

I can supper polish the whole bore down to 50,000 diamond past, there is no lands and groove for the lead to accumate, even the twist is like a smooth lands. I hardly dont clean the barrel after polishing.

I gained speed of 35fps just changing to ST at the same OAL length barrel.
