Mrod regulator

I have a 25 marauder with the Huma regulator with integral gauge block. Yes, the gauge shows only the regulated pressure. Mine is set to 1800 psi. I get 42 shots at 40 FPE from a single fill with JSB 25.39 grain pellets, more shots and fpe with heavier pellets. Substantial work has been done on the gun. Transfer port and barrel are 0.187 and polished. Hill Valve with optional 6 pound spring. 20 gram hill aluminum hammer with hill striker. WAR TSS, set at close to the minimum strike. The bolt, which partially blocks the transfer port, has be recontoured and narrowed at the hips and given a gentle spoon shape. Hammer tube polished and deburred. Gauge hole has been deburred and polished. And yes, I like the huma regulator. It allows me to stay below a 2 percent extreme spread for all 42 shots.

Did you do all the extra work yourself?

"bltefft"Last night I order a Robert Lane MK8 fregulator or my Gen 1 .22 Mrod. I'm looking forward to trying it out, but a little anxious when I comes to installing it.

He told me no drilling was required with the MK8, unlike the "older" Lane regulators.

That regulator is a plug and play. Take out the gauge, pull the gauge block, install regulator and screw gauge back in.

Thanks, seems easy enough. I just got to figure out how to "pull" the gauge block. I'll look for some YT videos.

"NorthLand43"Can anyone say if the Huma regulator is better than the Lane? Or vice versa?
When I was doing the research on what regulator to buy, I never saw where one was recommended over the other. I bought the Lane because no drilling was required.
I found a nice YT video of the removal to the gauge / block assembly - easy to do.

"addertooth"Bltefft,
Yes, I did all the work myself. It only took a couple of hours. Tools used were: a drill press (could have carefully used a hand drill), a dremel tool, needle file and some abrasives. It was surprisingly easy to do. All the hard work was done by Hillairgun and WickedAirRifles which made most of the drop in components.
Thanks for replying.
