Most recent FX Impacts, updated? Improved?

I received my FX impact on the 4th. It took 9 weeks.
i can tell you the fill port on mine has not been changed. They did supply a plastic thing to aid in the fill process. When following the directions Installing the plastic piece it broke. I was doing this in my garage. I guess it may have been too cold for the plastic.(poopty design)
the case is not larger and my FX didn't come with the telescopic barrel.
On a side note. I ordered a carbon fiber tank setup from airtanksforsale.com. Spoke to the owner. He was great! My question is how do you connect from the charging piece sent from FX? It's a threaded end. And the end sent from airtankforsale has a quick disconnect.

I purchased an adapter for $10 that converts the bspp thread to foster before I left the airgun shop when I bought my Impact.
There are numerous adapters available online or at a air gun shop.

That is unfortunate that you received your gun with the plastic extension adapter. I was told FX used those for a period of time, but they were problematic, and have switched to the metal version I received with my
Impact.
Using the Foster connection (quick disconnect coupler) is the way to go,
In my opinion.

What I ended up with is a foster x foster extension of around 1.5" that
allows easier connection of fill hose.

I may at some point have my stock inlet area killed out for clearance.

Was thinking of getting an FX till I heard of all the issues. I mean they don't have the extra expense of a walnut stock so can put more into the shooting parts of the gun.
I'm hearing jams, screws falling out, gauges that are not accurate, leaks etc. They are $1800.00 guns not a 500.00 Marauder.

They need to get all these issues worked out before I will buy one.

Does yours have the improvements mentioned in this thread? Anything else different that you notice?

I haven't kept up with all the improvements people have reported, or speculated. AOA did tell me a bunch of things that had been issues when I spoke with them on the phone, but most of those would not be obvious, so my recommendation would be to ask them if you have a specific question.

The fill port is definitely different from the reviews I saw. They beveled the front and rear of the opening to let you get your thumb and finger on the adapter. Also the port extends from the surface about 1/8" and has a magnetic cap. It's quite possible the port extension and cap is something AOA does, and not directly from FX though.

The only other thing I noted was that the pellet probe set screw appears to be the same size. I didn't remove it, but it takes a 1.5mm key, and the outside diameter is 3mm best I can measure. The issue on these was a bad batch of screws as I recall, so hopefully the installed screw is the correct material.

Cheers,
Rusty

Apparently the impacts made from May/april 2017 have a regulator with a slightly longer shaft like the one featured in the FX Crown. Should make it a little more reliably. Should be available as an upgrade for others at dealers from august/september.

There was also a change made to the belleville washers. From 8x0.4mm and 3x0.3mm to 15x0.4mm. Should make a more uniform regulation, but if you have no problems with deviation, this should not be a necessary upgrade.
