More P-rod talk ...

Ok, I swapped HS and TP and I have the power and trajectory I was looking for.

#42 HS and .105 TP from Hill and the tune is 5 turns spring/2 turns throw.

I can get through 2 magazines between 2800-1600 before shots start falling off, and I guess I'm good with that but if I could get 3 mags that would be even more perfect. Will the bstaley mod make that happen without sacrificing much power?

As it is now I'm sighted in at 30 yards and 40 is EXACTLY 1 mildot......and I really REALLY like that.

Still waiting on my little chrony from China so fps is figured from pellet trajectory, and it looks to be in the neighborhood of 732 fps/17.09 fpe.

hey , fishin wrench , i spent about 3 months fine tuning a benjamin woods walker for a good customer of mine . i also added a $41 muzzle device from ebay that makes a huge difference with sound. i replaced the hammer spring and went thru the whole gun after about a month of trying to get the thing to leak , which was why they brought it this time. after messin around with it - i began to believe that this was my favorite american airgun - benjamin woodswalker. in the end , i gave up on the 800 fps dream and basically let this one settle in as a 700 fps gun. this one now gets 3 clips - and that 24 shot average is 707 fps with premiers . i fill it to 2700 psi . it is an accurate , compact , modern carbine airgun package.....and i really like it , but all in all - it is as about as powerful as the current benji 392pa pumper rifles. i would use this rig like they did - to be a sneaky mother ****er and shoot squirrels on a bible college full of liberal tree huggers right behind their backs. the squirrels ****ed up $30K worth of wiring in the class bldgs - so the southwest baptist theological seminary elder staff has declared holy war against the nutters. - raneman ..

Yep, I put a WAR moderator on mine as well. I'm not interested in making it a full blown hotrod, I just felt it was slightly enimic in it's stock form. I'm perfectly content with the power it has now that I have upgraded the spring and TP, but it would be cool to get another 8 shots out of a fill.

Guess I will just have to drop some O-rings in it and find out.

Since my Throw setting is only 2 turns CW should I only use 2 O-rings instead of 3 ?

Fish, if you can...wait and run it over the crony when it comes in. That way you have a baseline and you will see what the oring mod is doing for you. The mod is basically a hammer buffer to prevent bounce. I like to use 4 orings.. 2 wouldn't even contact the ha.mer. With 4 in place and the throw all the way in.. It will barely tap the valve. It makes adjustment of the throw more precise. You will need to turn the spring in a little more ..... But you'll be able to start your fill pressure higher and will flatten the string out in the middle where the hammer would be normally bouncing and dumping more air. You should be able to get another mag no problem. 1/8 turns on the throw make a big difference with this mod. So stock up on pellets and have fun with the crony. You'll realize quickly how valuable of a tuning tool it is.

If you really want to mod it and get plenty of shot/power then try doin this

Just funnin! You'll get there and it will be wort the efforts!

With the oring mod.... You need to smack it harder with the hammer. By running the throw out...all's you did is delete the origins from the equation. Start with 2 more turns in on the hammer spring...and back the throw out where you had it.

I am at 6 1/2 turns on the HS already. Only have a 1/2 turn left.

For some odd reason I don't like to run anything maxed out.
