I'm trying to get more energy out of my .22 bullboss. It's regulated with a huma set at 155 bar with the port opened to .185 . I'm trying to push the 25.39 monsters to 900 fps. Right now its shooting them at 845 fps. Would increasing the regulator to 165 or even its max at 170 bar get me there. Do I need a longer barrel? it has a 24" barrel now, or is the plume size going to be the limiting factor?

You are asking a lot from a .22 pcp. There are guns out there that will do that, but they are designed to do it. Right now you are getting 40 fpe. Going to 900 will only get you to 45 fpe. Why not get a .25 caliber and be done with it.

However, you might try increasing your hammer spring tension.

You can max out the Huma regulator, but your shot count is going to take a serious hit.

Your barrel is plenty long enough.

Couple things to try would be a lighter spring in the valve itself and maybe drilling a bunch of holes in the sides of plenum to give it a little more volume....I'm no professional at this but just some things I've read on power tuning.

Ports may be .185" but is your valve throat after subtracting the valve stem equal to .185" or more? If not, that is a limiting factor that you need to consider...For a 3mm valve stem you would need the throat / valve seat opening to be .225" or 5.71 MM.
