Monstrum Tactical FFP scope

"blackdiesel"Anyone have experience with Monstrum scopes? I love the reticle and that it's FFP and the price is right

That one of the best reticles I have ever seen. Fantastic. Reminds me a bit of my MTC Viper connect SCB 2 reticle. The scope being ffp at this point is also superb. This needs more researching. Will tr and check some videos online. If I find something, will let you know.

Scopes should not be mixing units:
If a scope has a mildot reticle (or other mil-based aim points reticle), it should really come with mil knobs, not with moa knobs like many still do.

When you see that according to your mildot reticle you need to adjust 3/4 mil to be on target but you are out of aim points on your reticle, or adjust 3/4 mil to be in the center of the crosshairs for easier aiming, then
- with a mil knob you adjust 3/4 mil. Clickclickclick. Done.
- with a MOA knob you adjust... hang on... 1 mil is 3.38 MOA, so 3/4 mil... ehmm... Hey! Pigeon sit still! Almost there. .... 3/4 of 3.38.... crap where is my calculator.... pigeon? Where are you?

I wouldn't think it would be complicated at all if you use the hashes instead of the torrents to adjust your aim. It only require you to make range cards to the maximum distance you intend to shoot. When hunting all that's required would be to use a range finder, and use whatever hash mark that correspond to the distance and shoot. Since the POI shouldn't change with magnification you can range distance targets and zoom in before firing if you desire. With an air gun I wouldn't bother trying to range a target with the reticle. I would always use a range finder.

I agree with pretbek. Its doesn't make sense to mix units of measure. I think its lazyness on the part of manufacturers. "Oh mil reticles are all the rage now, lets just add one to our moa scope and call it a tactical scope." Sure if you just use the reticle for holdover then you may not have need for the turrets very often but still. Why stop short of making it right. I appreciate company's that go the extra mile and make a proper FFP mil/mil scope.
