Modular Evolution Bipod Review

Making my way through this long list of bipods, I've got the Modular Evolution bipod to show you guys. The design shares some similarities to both Atlas and Accu-Tac but has added features of being used with a tripod via an adaptor or swapping the legs out for longer ones!

I was pleasantly surprised at the performance of this one. Initially, I thought that having so many joints and connections would make for a very sloppy system. All those pieces do add bits of slop into the system but, overall, it wasn't bad when you consider everything together.

Big price tag on this one, though! You're looking at over $320 just to get started. Add in a few key accessories and it's really easy to get up over $500 and that's a heck of a lot of dough to fork out for a bipod, IMO. On the other hand, you get options with this system that other bipods can't offer.

Note: I send off a few rounds from an firearm in this video. You can see the shell casing just over my head in the pic below.

Hope you enjoy!

Another great review Tom. This is one of my favorite bipods for anytime I'm not on the bench, especially when I'm hunting in the mountains. For the bench it's the Accu Tac FC-G2 or Atlas 5H but for everything else, I love the Evolution bipod. It's light, built like a tank and just plain on works like it should. I know this bipod is expensive and doesn't have the sponsored shooters like Atlas or Accu Tac so you don't see it out there as much but it is certainly top tier! I bought the bipod and then later on I bought the long legs, so it was like two separate purchases. I tricked myself into thinking it wasn't as expensive that way! LOL Next comes the Arca Swiss mount for my tripod!

Have a great weekend Tom!

Thanks for sharing your take on it @stoti! I think you have a newer model than the one I used. Your quick release lever has the little bump out on it which may be a very small detail but, I think it makes a BIG difference in the ease of use of the QR clamp. The one I used for the review was well used and it still managed to impress. Thanks for the compliment too!

Happy Shooting!

I do love this bipod for hunting and think it's underrated, especially when being used on a lightweight mountain rifle. I love my Atlas 5-H for shooting from the bench too. When not hunting, I shoot off the bench a majority of the time, probably 80%, so the 5-H gets lots and lots of use...until recently anyway! I bought an Accu Tac FC-G2 for shooting from the bench or prone on my shooting mat and just don't see myself using anything but the Accu-Tac while shooting targets. It's simply amazeballs (as my son would say). I love everything about it and can't believe I didn't buy one sooner. The build quality, fit and finish, all of the mechanisms, the weight, the feel, customer service, the warranty, everything. Simply amazeballs!!! I love it!

Thank you for all the videos and reviews too. I know you're busy and they take a lot of time and effort to make and edit. It's nice to watch videos that are coming from somebody that knows what they're talking about. Of course there are plenty of knowledgeable people on-line, but there are also a lot of "others" that read about things and become experts without actually ever touching or using what they are reviewing. I'm not knocking them, just making a point. It's nice to know that we're getting good info. from a knowledgeable source!

Have a great rest of your weekend!
