Tuning MK2PP loosing speed

Looks like now is my turn to call you all for a brainstorming, next couple of days I will not have time to take the Impact apart so I hsall have a chance to pin point theoretically the source of the problem.

Last week at my shooting range I noticed the speed started dropping like 100 fps and more (according to my radar, which is pissing me already for some time).

My first taught the C1 got loose. Toke it apart yesterday, not the C1.

OK, maybe the Reg. Toke it apart that one too, cleaned the gunk from the airpath (last time I filled my SCBA I noticed that it sucked in some moisture), replaced the new orings, re-lubed, gas it up, it was holding air over night. Washed and polished the liner for a fresh start.

Today range time, all started promising speed about 880's, then after some 2-3 mags the speed started raising to 920ish (ok maybe this much need for the liner warm-up) .

4-5 more mags reload and the speed started loosing again down to mid 770.

And in mean time my radar is playing crazy, no numbers probably 90% of the shots, and what is showing the numbers all over the place.

First, I would throw away that FX radar, but teach me for a real convenience. If I replace it only something else again = portable and pocketable. Researching now as we speak what else my be good enough to consider (no chrony style, I had many of those during my archery time, not going back to dinosaurs. I feel kind of sorry why I didn't got the Labradar instead, but I was just way too cheap to spend a grand for the machine that steel needs a pile of cash to make a complete kit...

OK, back to OP.

Not leaking, not the Reg what else may be involved to have a speed erraticall (other then the radar, again), lead deposits in the liner? that is easy to wash.

My .25 Impact is heavy ported and custom springs (hammer and valve), the valve poppet is peek...what else could make the huge speed swings?

I knew that my radar is out of warranty and I installed this USB powercable couple weeks ago, the idea is not my I saw some conversation about somewhere here @ AGN. That powerbank I have it for long years (we were taking on a trips and long travels) was just sitting in my drawer waiting for a better use. 3x AAA=4.5V and the powerbank outputs 5.2V

When I got this radar last year the very first couple months it was working flawless, then slowly started loosing shots and I mount it to a smaller tabletop tripod (I have those as well cannot remember how many) so I can move around the position on the table with more or less luck. Lately I noticed more often that the radar is missing shots, and today was a total disaster, almost a full tin of pellets and only a couple dozen registered shots, which I am questioning the reliability.

And yes, I just checked the power wheel screw got loose, wash it with acetone and looking at it right now where did I put my blue loctite last time I finished the job , but honestly I am trying to avoid loctite as much possible...ruining the socket in that small 2.5mm setscrew can lead to a another avalanche.

Also picture of my Reg to the guys never saw earlier what a moisture in the HP air can do to the internals. I had some basic moisture filtering and relied the most on AC in my basement, still...

I was waiting for a shipment from aliexpress almost two months, when the package arrived I installed this dual chamber water/oils separator right away, emptied tree of my tanks and refill.

The digs in the power adjuster - shafts are coming from the setscrew tip if you set the HS at a Max but shooting with lower settings and no tension on the slider...and not by turning the knob. The hammer is bouncing back from the valve spring hits the slider and the screw tip digs the same spot deeper and deeper. These spots you can feel/see when you turn the power wheel after some while.

To avoid these digs? Yes possible if you set the HS at Min but you may ran out with slider at Max...

And, I like that idea with an oring as a retainer.

First thing that came to my mind and I just check that.

The power wheel adjusting screw got loose.

Anybody have a good idea how this power wheel thingy could be re-designed efficiently?

I didn't like the idea anyway that that small settscrew grabs and digs into the shaft...

This is what I would bet on! Put a little blue locktite on it and then paint mark it so you will know, I have had this move multiple times even after I had done this, so mark it, unless your reg had moved up? You would not be shooting down usually👍🏻

Having the tank higher than the compressor helps keep the moisture level down also.

Yes, I had it that way earlier but my "Boss" rearanged my corner around the sink and I had hard moments to get back at least a portion of my spot. This basement still a work in progress an we negotiate for corners ;)

Nice to know that I’m not the only one with a “Boss” (or as I like to call her, the “Supreme Commander”). The difference seems to be that mine let me know early on (40+ years) that “this is not a negotiation” 😂
