Mix and match power plenum parts question

I wonder if you can update some parts and leave others as they are on Impact MK2

Say I wanted to change the valve house, and valve rod (to the new ones) but keep the old hammer spring, weight, hammer, hammer stop and valve stop assembly. Would that be possible? Is the hammer stop the same thread size? Is the valve rod the same OD?

Im happy with the polish plenum but might want to change these other parts over if there's gains to be had, but I like the old style of valve stop without a spring.

Hi Nathan,

Valve housing and new pp valve are a pair, the length of the valve pin (with the little O-ring) is different between impact x and mk2pp due to the fixed valve seat in the pp valve housing.

Valve rod diameter is the same, hammer seat is the same, hammer, hammerspring, valve stop, micrometer etc. etc. are all interchangeable. So yes, you sure can mix and match old and new parts :)

cheers, Gijs

Perfect! Thats all i would want to swap over perhaps. Is the integrated valve seat bigger than 6.5mm?

Thanks Gijs

I can't measure the size of the pin at the moment, because the kit is already installed, but from this pic you can see the difference:

Edit: The one on the left is from Impact X, not MKII

Also You can not put old long spring C42 in power plenum and use with rubber ball system for valve control because it will jam 5,5x1,5 o-ring in small tube of a new plenum and hit delrin valve in an angle. O-rings that seals plenum and valve rod are now inserted from the "inside" and there is no more secure nut like before.

You can use plenum from Poland with original valve housing without C42 and use all new system with spring in valve control.

You can experiment with original, heavy hammer, new lighter and hammer weight in all combinations.

And hammer springs are interchangeable.

If You want to use new valve housing with new valve rod and old C42 spring and old system in front with rubber ball, it is doable with little modification. Must use two washers, metal or better delrin, 3,3mm ID and circa 6-8mm OD form both sides of C42 spring not to allow it to jam in the small plenum tube from one side and not to hit delrin conical surface in the valve. Also the spring C42 can be shortened but not necessary.

The new valve seat is 6.5mm in diameter
