Missing meat mystory:-)

I was up at our family vacation cabin on Saturday to do some clearing and had I set up my Mutant Shorty in an upstairs bedroom incase the starlings came around. After a long day I came in and sat down for a bit, then noticed a starling out by our garden. By the time I got up to my hide, he was gone. Then I happened to see a small rabbit sitting in the shad of our raised vegetable beds.... Crap! My girls know about the little bunnies and I had told them I would leave them alone, but I was about to leave for a few days and I was afraid I would come home to find the beds cleaned out... so I popped the little bunny. I was going to clean him but wanted to take a shower first, so I set the bunny out on the lawn in the shade, took my shower and grabbed something to eat, then went to clean the rabbit, but ended up having one of those what the heck happened moments. There was a gut pile, some fur, and the hind leg sitting right where the rabbit had been placed. It almost looked like someone had cleaned the rabbit on the lawn and just left the hind legs and guts behind. What a weird feeling! I did a 360 to see if there was a dog, coyote, or eagle about, but didn't see anything. My guess is that a bald eagle got it. There is a creek adjoining the property and eagles are often about. Glad the meat went to good use if it were an eagle. Kind of bummed I didn't think to take a photo of the crime scene though:)
