Minimum hunting FPS

If you’re asking if that gun will take squirrels, the answer is yes with a properly placed shot.

Before I got my big toy I went to Wally World and got a 1322 (about a 6FPE gun like yours) to combat my squirrel problem and found the only effective shot was to the temple.

I once took a direct facing shot that I thought I missed after he bolted up the tree. About a minute later I found out it bounced off the squirrel’s skull which caused him to loose balance and fall 40ft onto my driveway which killed him.

I think if your need to eliminate squirrels you will be extremely handicapped using that gun.

Something like a cheap springer that can do about 16FPE will probally serve you much better.

Hi a crossman 2240 is a 22 pistol , which can get up to 14fpe but most should be around 12fpe

so it should shoot 18 grains like 600fps , so somehow your gun is way to low unless you shooting 33 gr jsb at 454 which would be 14fpe

so to answer question , 6 fpe can kill a squirrel with a good shot placement , The main thing is if you can group 5 of 5 shots under 1/2 inch then this is the range you should shoot a squirrel , I have killed squirrels with a 12fpe gun at 65 yards , but the gun is lazer accurate ,

shot placement is everything , with low power like this you have to be spot on , when you did chrono what weight you using ???? if it is really 454fps was your CO2 FULL?

Shot placment. This tree rat @ 40 yds with 12 fpe @ muzzle. Aa s200 .177 jsb 8.4.
