Metal mags, pollymags, hollowpoints???

I think you are going to need to shoot these though your gun to find which is going to be accurate. I have a Daystate Wolverine and Daystate Airwolf. The H&Ns Hunter Extremes shot poorly in the Wolverine, but they are very accurate in the Airwolf. The Hunter Extremes are what I use for hunting as they seem to open up the fastest and delivery the most energy in my gun.

Some examples below on accuracy at 20 yards with 10 rounds of each pellet.

kyler2643 after reading your post I decided to look at youtube and see how much testing had been done for expansion for various hp pellets. There was testing done in various media and it was clear with enough fps the hp pellets would expand very well. I started to use some hp pellets for pesting as I new at least they would create a better wound channel than dome pellets which tend to pencil on through on body shots. I like dome pellets for head shots and that they tend to be more accurate and have better energy retention at longer ranges. What I did when selecting a hp pellet was to determine the maximum range my pest or game animal would be shot at and the level of accuracy needed. In general most hp's depending on the rifle and power output will tend to be less accurate and loose fpe faster past 30 to 40 yards. This won't be a problem if your pest and game animal is shot at less than 30 yards and your rifle has enough power pellet expansion. I shot and tested various pellets in different rifles and what was accurate in one rifle was not accurate in another. Therefore for your needs I think I would buy a variety of hp pellets to test in your rifle for accuracy at the maximum distance you intend to shoot and with keeping in mind the level of power needed to take out your target. IMO Bill

kyler2643 I see in another post you have an FX Verminator MK 2. I have one on order right now with AOA in .22 caliber and I intend to use it for rat shooting and small game like squirrels. I'm thinking I will shoot it on medium power 17 fpe? with the H&N Terminators 16.13 grains for rats if it is accurate out to about 35 to 40 yards. For squirrel I will shoot it at high power 24 fpe? for squirrels. I'm not sure if I will go with dome or hollow points for the squirrels depending on the balance between knockdown power and accuracy required. My squirrel shooting tends to be at 35 yards and more making accuracy the main factor. What kind of game or shooting are you doing with your Verminator and how is it performing for you. Thanks Bill

The verminator is awesome! Mine is also .22 caliber. It's really fun to shoot. It's short and compact. It's very pointable. It does crack a little loud without a moderator. I would definitely recommend getting a moderator if you would like it to be backyard friendly. It's usually my go to gun at the moment. I love hunting Jack rabbits with it. Puts them down on the spot. After shooting the gun awhile I got confident with it and ended up taking out a Jack rabbit at 73 yards. (Got him right under the ear where I was aiming) with no problem he didn't see it coming. Its my longest kill shot with that rifle so far. I've shot a fair amount of squirrels with it as well. I would definitely recommend it. I hope this helps AirgunBill. I don't think you will be disappointed.
