There was some discussion over at GTA about the barrel. The initial announcement said that it was threaded, but the official specs don't say that. Can you clear that up @Chip? Is the barrel threaded? Also, do you know if it will be eligible for the '20OffTuesday' promocode?

Z: Threaded barrel is for europe. This started out as a euro-only gun but customer interest in the U.S. led to it being released here as well. Adding cans to airgun is a big deal there, thus the threaded barrel.

Put the gun in your shopping cart at Crosman.com and it will automatically add the case so you can see it. I believe it's a softcase with 'Benjamin' written on it. All in all, I think it's a pretty sweet deal. If I weren't still trying to figure out how to shoehorn a Bulldog into my gun cabinet I might get one of these. As it is, I think I need to get rid of something...not sure what yet though."dodge3500"What does the case look like?

Today is 'D' Day for the Maximus. The expected in-stock date is "Expected in stock date: May 20, 2016"

Chip with so many moderators being used on guns over here why is the US version without threads? It would make more sense to ship all of them with threaded barrels, it means the decision to add something to the gun is left to the owner and not the maker, Neil.

Neil, just a guess here but one reason may be the UK barrels are not threaded either, they use a slip on adaptor that has threads on it and most in the UK didn't care for the fit all that much and replaced them with either a different adaptor or a unit that didn't need threads.

spysir I was hoping that Chip would respond with an answer, we can all speculate but I would really like to know why the UK would get a gun ready to accept a screw on moderator while customers in the USA get something less, Neil.

Neil, I was hoping Chip might chime in also (though I'll go ahead and speculate , pardon that giving factual information on such issues is not his company position).
You should be able to easily find a UK slip on if interested, then you might ( but you see sometimes results vary) discover what most who have used that adaptor have.

John I don't need a slip on, I make moderators and this has made me ask the question why they would not make it easier for the customers over here in the USA. It is much easier to buy a standard screw on moderator than it is to have one custom made to fit a barrel. With moderators now being so accessible over here now it really makes little sense, but nothing makers do seems to make any sense now anyway, lol.

How is one with tired eyes to put a scope on it? Doesn't appear to be milled for one.
