Maverick vs. impact M3

Size matters. My M3 project rifle is a brick lol, but it feels a little more compact with the 580cc bottle than the Maverick with the 580cc.
I have them both setup in .30cal with custom TJ barrels that I machined for them. I find that I enjoy shooting the Maverick with the shorter 502mm barrel and 300cc bottle than the M3 with a 611mm barrel. The M3 gets more shots obviously, but I wind up tinkering with it too much, whereas I just grab the Maverick and shoot it.

Thanks. The EO setup is AWESOME! I've dedicated the 50gr JSBs to that rifle and zeroed it to 44m. Using the EXPS3-4 reticle, which lets me shoot accurately to around 135m (further than I hunt small game with this rifle):
I found a little Pic rail mount that attaches to the barrel. This allows me to drop a PVS-14 behind the G33 which is pretty convenient for pesting and hunting in places where my NOX18 thermal isn't as convenient:

I don’t have a PVS-14 yet. I do have a Trijicon Reap-Ir thermal scope I am looking forward to using on the Maverick.

I don't use the safety. My rifle weighs 9lbs in the TJ configuration with the optics installed.
Baker Airguns (I think). It was sold as a rail for a Benjamin pumper.

$300 is not going to make a difference in my life (but then again neither are the bells and whistles that come with the Impact)
MY personal issue is that I am left handed and mag on the Mav seems to be right on your cheek. That is something you feel on literally every shot you take. So that alone is pushing me towards the Impact, although I personally like the look of the Mav better.
I think I am going to end up getting the .25 Impact. I was planning on getting an Arken 4x16 but the 6x24 is also nice.

My Sig Sauer pistols have no external safeties but just like glock have internal one same with Springfield XD at least in first gen.
especially with handguns a safety can just as easily kill you as prevent an accident. I’m all for firearm and air rifle safety but that doesn’t mean a safety on the product.

I heard it mentioned you hear an awful lot with maverick being a lefty. Also the rifle is surely capable I’d go for the 24x you don’t hear many 24x owners wishing they got the 16x

So getting back on track. The M3 seems to be on back order for the foreseeable future. I was looking into used impact mk2’s, but honesty, they’re holding their price pretty well right now, and aren’t much lower than a new m3. So, I’m talking myself into the maverick. I won’t be really long range shooting, I’m not going to hunt big game, and I’m not into tinkering too much. I would like to be able to shoot different weights of pellets without too much tinkering, and even though the m3 is resettable easily, I don’t think it’s a deal breaker on the maverick. There is a lot of support behind the maverick, and the only real cons I’ve seen so far is noise from the action, and build not “feeling” as sturdy as the impact. I have a wildcat mk2 that has the action right next to my ear, and it really doesn’t bother me that much. The only other con is no as many shots from a magazine, but again, not a deal breaker with the new speed loaders everyone is putting out.
Am I writing this for advice? Or to talk myself into the maverick due to lack of m3’s? Maybe a little bit of both

I like the rapid adjustability of the Maverick. I have it tuned for my 30 Sniper to shoot Hybrids at 970fps on power wheel setting of 7. I can shoot Hades very accurately at power wheel 5. My ES is 3fps with the hybrids at 7. As I go down the wheel I have notice an increased ES. The ES is reasonable though at 5 with Hades 30 cal pellets.

I don't use the safety either. It's a bolt gun really don't need it.
I have the M3 and the Maverick. They are both very nice airguns.

I do not want to highjack this thread but I dont know where else to go since my search for FX Maverick problem went no where. I just received my Mav 30 cal sniper about less than a week ago. I have about 300 pellets through it. Today I adjusted the regs to 140 /170 and was zeroing my gun at 30 yards. Then moved to 50 yards, and about on tin of pellets in I was shooting nearly hole in hole until I felt a puff of air hit me in the eye. I noticed the power wheel had moved from 7 to 6 then the gun would not work any longer and I cannot get the mag out of the gun. It will be going back to airgun depot but does has anyone had this experience or know what might have happened?

Possibly the breech o-ring got dislodged and stuck in the mag. Where did the air come from.. the mag area?
