Tuning Maverick compact 25

I shoot 25.3 JSB @ 914 on 6 , ES 6/ SD 2.2. 48 shot (3 mags) and a refill.reg 130/95

MOA@ 100. 4" @ 155. wind usually plays in at that range.

Can't get 33.95 but I'd do have hybrids and 34.95 NSA

Planning on this replacing my gen 1 impact, so, for fun I put the 700 barrel and impact bottle on the mav... yes they'll fit. No shroud so you have NO harmonics and some barrel droop.

Even then kept them on paper @ 100. What wanted to know was, what fps change would be.

979 by installing 700 barrel!

Also contemplating 22 conversion. Go ahead and tell me I'm crazy! Last time I talked such nonsense, it was suggested I buy another gun. I've been looking, but I'll be damned if I'll buy a gun from someone who can't deliver pellets..

Anyone else with similar or differing results. Interesting advise?

Any one got on the power pup yet?

I bought the Maverick in .25 compact and its now a .30Sniper and I love having the ability to change calibers. The Maverick, unlike my M3, is by far the easiest to tune, for me...again for me...

The 700mm barrel definitely jumps up the speed and with a few tweak's you can dial it in for all calibers. I have switched to .22 as well but decided I really like the .30 for the range of power. Dial it down and your in the 70's for fpe or dial it up and your at 115fpe or so; love the versatility.

Yes, some will say buy another rifle but you would still need to tune that new rifle just as you would when you change caliber's. It's all personal preference and what you choose to do so make the best decision for you and enjoy.

The Maverick .30 cal Sniper totally changed my mind regarding the Maverick line.

My first Mav which I bought maybe 6 months ago was a .25 Compact. While I will say that it was competing against my all time favorite squirrel hunter (Impact Compact in .22 cal tuned down to shoot Hades accurately), the Mav Compact was only a 'meh' shooter in my mind. Add to that that it also came with a manufacturing defect which caused it to dump all of its air occasionally, and it went back to the dealer within the return period for a refund.

Fast forward to a few months ago when I saw that Baker had a 'demo' Mav .30 Sniper available - at a discounted price. I kind of think that Donnie Reed may have played with this gun, and I have a high regard for his tuning capabilities. That gun came to me shooting between 89-95 FPE, depending on pellet weight and HS wheel setting, and easily MOA at 100 yards. I would say more about its performance except it has been with a buddy for the last 2 months as he is deciding what to buy for a 100 yard squirreling gun on his vineyard.

I will say that after that excellent experience with the Mav Sniper, I have since bought another Mav Compact .25, and I although I have only had it for a short time, I am liking it much better than my first, identical Mav. It gets to go to the range with me next weekend to hopefully get its first squirrel blood. May even leave the M3 Compact .22 at home that weekend.

I have the Maverick Sniper in 30 as well as the setup as a Maverick Compact in 25. The 25 is a hammer for me with the JSB 25 pellets! I get 918fps with the JSB 25gr at Power Wheel 2 and 968fps Power Wheel 6 and a SD of 1 with both.

I absolutely love my Maverick. I have a custom barrel for .177, but I'm using the 700mm superior heavy in .22 and in .30. I only shoot slugs, and ammo cost is quite good when you shoot the NSA slugs for sure. I currently have the 700mm .30 superior heavy on it, because I'm going hunting for some "larger critters" . It is crazy accurate with the NSA 54.5, 61.5, and 65.5. I push my guns really hard for hunting, but the .22 with superior heavy is awesome for targets and pests with the 30+ grain slugs. It doesn't have to work very hard to shoot in the 60-70+ fpe range, and it is very accurate. I say get the .22 barrel and enjoy the shooting ;)

Forgot to ask, what reg setting for 918. 1st & 2nd? To get speed @ 2 or 3.

As I stated. Mine is 914 on 6. 130/95. w/ es6 sd 2.2. 3 mags MOA all day Won't shove slugs fast enough without cranking up. On an earlier set for slugs I remember settings of 160 &120. Of course a compact can't get much of a shot count with the small tank. Like you mentioned if I go with 700/22 I can steal the tank from impact.

Might be a good little gun but I don't know in this day and age why anyone would want that cocking lever back by their face or ear. Other manufacturers and models have already successfully dealt with this situation, which at least to me is pretty poor ergonomics on the DreamPup/PowerPup. Kind of a situation where the manufacturer said "Let's just take a standard rifle's action and set it farther back in the stock and call is a bullpup."

Having previously had a DreamPup, which for the most part was an excellent little gun, I have no personal interest in the PowerPup as it has the same ergos (which led me to sell my DreamPup).

150/180 on regulators and hammer spring maxed out gives me 918fps at power wheel 2 and 968fps power wheel 6. The reg and hammer spring settings were just carried over from my 30 Sniper setup as that was the optimal reg settings. All I have to do is change the barrel and pellet probe and done.
