Gen 1 .177 with Huma reg setpoint 1800. Original valve, hammer, etc. no mods. jsb 10.4. air flow screw is wide open and with every adjustment to hammer and throw can only get about 830 fps with the 10.4s. Normal? Without reg velocity will go well over 1000 and easily to adjust for desired speed. what do I need to know??? Thanks.

That sounds normal to me with those heavy pellets. Im just going on what I have experienced with my gen 1 m-rod. However mine is in .22 though. Sounds like you may need to use a larger plenum. You could turn up the reg some but going to far may require a stronger hammer spring. You could also open the transfer port some.

Yes, I would say that was normal. What speed do you get unregulated at 1800 psi? If you set your reg. to the pressure for maximum velocity, probably about 2600, you will get most of the speed back but your shot count will plummet. There are some articles in Hard Air Magazine that explain in detail the reasons for why.

Our club gen 1 marauder in .177 tosses 10.3's right @ 900 fps, down to about 1700 psi.
880's for another 100/200 psi from there.

Seems normal to me, you can either open up the valve, tp and barrel port some, or raise the set point 100-150~ psi and lean on the hammer spring some if you want more FPS.

When you put in the huma did you get all the holes lined up. Sounds low to me. I have a gen 2
that i purposely have set down to 790fps shooting 10.5s with the stock reg. Seems like you should be able to get into the 9’s but I don’t really know. Hajimoto has a video on installment of the Jefferson State aluminum air tube that might be help or call crosman.
