Marauder Troubles?

Tonight after doing at little target practice at 40yds I noticed on my last clip that the first shot seemed to be a miss fire. Once I get home, and fix the leak on my SCBA fill station I found an O-ring slid over the bolt. I cocked and fired the gun and immediately felt a puff of air hit my face. On closer inspection I found where I believe that ring went just inside the breech and with a little luck got it reseated.

Question I have is has this sort of thing happened to anyone else or did I just goof up and do something I have to go back and fix?

npunk42 had some very precise dimensions--and given that my replacement seems a wee bit off he is probably right. I blew it a couple days ago and with the replacement the pellet seems to rub ever so lightly against the ring moving through. it was a Danco 8 at Lowes. But it stopped the noise. And no puff of air. I avoided anything sharp in putting it in. Just bent it with my finger a bit and pushed one side in--then slipped in the other side.

Likes someone mentioned above--a jammed magazine might go along with this--it did so for me. But I had been getting a lot of fliers and replaced the clip with a single shot tray and it is shooting better. I have had two magazines and each one got terrible jams.

Like CJ said it will happen if the bolt is not fully closed even a little bit . Also for the marauder peeps out there I noticed on my 177 and 25 that the guns would shoot tighter more consistent groups if the stock bolt was not tight but not loose either, less than finger tight if that makes sense. Neither gun wanted it tight with Alan wrench, I picked that up from shooting Springers and for some reason some like it loose
