Marauder G2 vs Kral Puncher Mega - help needed

Power doesn't do any good if you can't hit anything. Once you get the accuracy, a well placed shot doesn't need extreme amounts of power. Our British friends use sub-12fp guns and take rabbits routinely. Extra power can also decrease accuracy so it's kind of a tradeoff.

Now, having said that, what range are you looking at, are you punching paper or hunting? what is the use you have planned? That determines what's the better tradeoff.

If it were me, I'd go for more shots. Accurate shots at 21 foot pounds kill game the same as 28 foot pounds.

If it were me,I would pick the Kral. They can be tuned for Very good power And shot count. Also have VERY good accuracy! In addition, the power can be dialed up or down via the receiver mounted power adjustment knob. If You pick the wood stock, its Turkish Walnut and looks much nicer than the wood on the M-Rod.

That said,it is louder than the Marauder and while the Krals trigger can be very good, I feel that the M-Rods trigger can (Again..To Me!) achieve near perfection.

Just my .02

I am enamoured with my Kral (bullpup .22) and it was my first big boy PCP. I just got a Mrod (.25) from Santa and have had it zeroed. I am conflicted on how to love two girlfriends at the same time. My Kral is a bullpup, so there will be times where it is easier to handle than the full length Mrod.

Only time will tell. Why not go crazy and get both? Then you can be confused like me 🤤

Agreed and the reason I'm considering both guns is because I find them both very accurate and though I haven't owned either of them, I'm not aware of a difference in their accuracy.

I would like this gun to reach out to 100yds+. I guess it would also be good to mention that I own a Kral PB in .22 and have it tuned/modified to 32-36 shots at 44.6 foot pounds. So, I could either go the route of having a gun that has a lot of shots at lower power or tune it up high like the puncher breaker. Either way it's hard to argue not going with the Kral...

Yeah, tough to decide in favor of the M-Rod just for trigger and (factory) sound suppression. It seems to be an iconic PCP kind of like a chevy 350, I'd like to have one in the line up some day but it probably wouldn't get much use if I have the Kral's.

I love the Kral bullpup and think it will still be my go-to but would like a full length rifle as well. It's probably going to be used by my son and or dad and they both prefer a traditional long rifle stock (...as of now). That being said I have a field bag that would fit (2) PB's and it would be nice to have a second in the same caliber incase I wanted to swap parts as well. Ugh, Jim, you had to bring up the bull pup didn't you...

Now the battle is between Puncher Breaker vs Puncher Mega (thanks to JimNM's "help")

I've owned and Mrod and if you like getting inside the guns to tune that's the one I would pick. The triggers can be set from unpullable to under a pound. You can get 40 shots at 40fpe with stock parts, and the new crosman barrels shoot lights out. Yes it's long, and heavy(?) but if you'r bench shooting I would buy the wood stock as it's easier to modify for a bipod or rail that the synthetic. Also if you check the GTA forum you will find many, many, many pages of different tunes for the mrod.

Marauder is kind of dated, although I love mine but its HIGHLY customized with more money into the rifle than what its worth. No good resale value when you have to spend 500$ to make the rifle 'up to date' IMO. I wouldn't do it again with whats available on the market now, I got into pcp's 2 year too soon, lol.

If I had to do it again I'd get the new upcoming dreamline hands down, still may one day depending on how it turns out.
