Tuning Marauder barrel alignment to air tube issue

Hey folks. I have had this issue with my 2nd gen Benjamin Marauder since I got it a while ago. The barrel doesn't run parallel to the air tube and this results in the barrel shroud contacting the barrel band at the top of band. If I remove the transfer port and reinstall the breech block/barrel, the barrel will center in the barrel band. So, I was curious if others have come across this and IF anyone has shortened the length of the transfer port from seal seat to seal seat to correct this.

YES ... if you already diagnosed the issue ( You have ) Go one step further and put port back in tho WITHOUT the sealing collars.

This will tell you if the port itself is the problem ( Too long ) or a sealing collar that is not crushing enough to allow breech to get flat.

Generally the seals do crush enough so my money in on the ports length creating the mechanical bind.

Thanks Scott! I took about .012" off. The breech now pulls down flush and the barrel shroud no longer contacts the top of the barrel band. What's funny, if the gun is vertical, the shroud is closer to the top of the band, and if the gun is horizontal, the shroud drops a bit and is almost centered in the band. Never thought I'd see that much deflection with the weight of the barrel and shroud.

Hello Gents. Let me say it's nice to find a Benjamin group of people. I am very new to air gun fun, and maybe you all can shed some light on my problem. I am shooting an Armadale 22 cal in 25 m benchrest. I am using crossman 14.3 hollow point pellets running from 3000 psi to 2000 over 30 shots. I have a new Diamond back 6 x32-50 scope. I am shooting off bipod with no stock support off my shoulder, the way it was intended to be used. I can get a pretty good 10 shot group all around that pesky little bullseye. I would like to be more accurate than this. What should I be looking to do to be more accurate. Would you suggest a new barrel upgrade, and where to get one. Are there any other ideas you might have?
