My barrel loves JSB 18.1 grain in 5.52 head diameter. It also likes the 16 grain Air Arms pellets. I have some Predator Polymags on the way and I'm hopeful they will group halfway decent at 30 yards so I can try them on my squirrel problem.
I also bought some Predator Polymags, the JSB and Diabolo Field Heavy were way more consistent in accuracy out of my barrel. I live in Edmonton, Canada and it is FREEZING, so it is impossible to do serious testing until the spring, and as mentioned I have been doing my testing freehand, so in the spring all my testing will be done when its nice and warm and I have my rifle rest )
What is the range you're shooting? It seems you've set up a sort of bait area w/an improved backstop for pass through in front of the fence. That's a good idea.
I do live in a neighborhood, so I have to be as safe as possible. I only shoot in front of the tree that is 25 yards from where I shoot or the shed that is 30 yards away. To get the "targets" in front of those two backstops, bait is necessary. The bait brings in the birds and I've become quite the backyard bird watcher because of it. I put up the board in front of my shed because my wife beat me beyond recognition for putting holes in her shed. I'm thinking about putting up a stop in front of the tree, but I want that tree gone anyway. The wife says leave it be, so it's either put up a stop or take another beating. I haven't decided what is the better choice at this point
Alex, I don't know if fortunate is the word I would use for my squirrel population Sheharyar, I have a UTG 6-24X56 scope with the 10x half mil reticle.
