Marauder .25 at 50yds

Shot this target this evening after doing some Chrony work. Used the 4 corners to refine the zero before grouping 8 shots to the center. I pulled the one to the right, had a light variable wind coming from the 2 o'clock. I used the Benjamin Domed pellets in 27.8gr. According to Chrony they were all between 805-795fps. From a stock .25 Marauder using rice filled socks for front and rear rest, 0.75in ctc.

You are getting better results than I am--and I gather that is the shooter. At 50, I get a good central group (not that tight-- but as well as I can shoot) with a halo of fliers. . Perhaps 2 shots in each clip of eight. With Benjamins a third run wild. JSBs much less of a problem--but too many. I did have a double pellet go down the barrel and clip some baffles (and somehow clear the shroud) and they could have done more damage Will call Crosman.

At 25 yards it is much better. Still fliers. But basically a very small group--half inch --One pellet following another down the hole.

With the exception of the fliers I think whatever shortcomings there are---are me.

I hope more Marauder and Discovery users will post.

For me Benjamins were not quite as accurate as the JSBs at 50. Whereas they did very well as 25. They weigh more and should handle the wind. And fly about 830fps. But they rend to open up for me at larger distances. . I am using the Crosman factory settings and the JSBs shoot at about 865 or so--and do very well. I have had too many fliers but I think it is the probe hitting the skirts of pellets-and have to have someone take a look at it.

. But it sounds like you are tearing it up at 25 yards.
