Man charged with illegally killing two deer with pellet rifle

He shot a fawn with a .22 break barrel rifle. How is he not a jerk????? Like wtf, who does that. From what I read, he shot the mamma with a AR style rifle, had the time to whip out and load a break barrel and then shoot the baby? Like I do t care he killed two deer, but why did you let em suffer? Why didn’t you just shoot the baby with the AR as well? With a crown or and Airforce etc with a .25 minimum limit within 50 yards ok maybe but a .22 break airgun...

My thoughts exactly and how could he be sure of what lay beyond his target if arrested after 5am. I'm assuming from the article this goof ball was shooting at night. Just irresponsible. 

Local municipality here in Utah had a huge problem with deer eating landscaping on $million dollar homes. I know one of the home owners and they were not happy. They did NOT take the problem into their own hands as anything that fires a projectile down range requires responsible actions. That includes slingshots (Catapults) to any caliber rifle you want. We must be responsible. It only takes one idiot to screw it up for all of us.

The municipality took their sweet time, and lots of landscaping was destroyed. The deer got very brazen and would come up to gardens and wouldn't leave unless you were literally throwing things at them. Only then when people might get hurt by getting too close to drive the deer out did the city do something. They hired a professional hunter to come in and cull the herd. Used a cross bow.

Made a huge difference. Still a few deer in the area but the herd is much smaller now and I suspect the culling will continue to keep the herd in check.

Difference here is that it was all done legally, No one person taking the law into their own hands and killing game animals technically "Owned" by the state.

So, this guy that is accused of killing the two deer, isn't so much a jerk as a criminal that should be prosecuted. Help him develop patience by understanding the consequences of his actions. Maybe he will learn that allowing a little deer damage while you go through the legal processes is much better than breaking out the AR-15 and cutting loose any day.

it says he was arrested under suspesion of felony charges....They should have seized his AR riffle...if they pulled a 223 out of the animal then he should have been charged with discharging a riffle in city limits, at night and im sure a few reckless indangerment charges could have been tacked on. The thing that I cant get over is when he was told a Dow and Fawn were severly injured in the road he says "Oh, cool" and then laughs.... I guess we know what kind of person mark DICKinson is He broke the law with the AR lied about using a pellet gun, that in itself should had put him in prison where he probably belongs. Oh my $40,000 landscaping....That land use to be those animals home

Yup, it’s criminal jerks like him who make it hard on responsible hunters. And it really galls me that he tried to use an airgun as an excuse.
