Making the Dreamtac Compact work with plenum extension

That’s really nice. Are you willing to make one for me and send it over to Holland? I’ll pay off course

Sorry. I posted this so guys can copy what I did. I would have to charge too much to make it worth my time.

I figured with the 220 cc it would give me a few more shots and with the 22 hades crows at 50 yards are toast

It will definitely give you more shots. I actually prefer my gun with the 220 on it. With the extra plenum and a 300, the whole balance of the gun starts getting off. That’s why the last thing I wanted was a 5” can on the gun. It made it worse. But when I pay over a grand for my guns, I get picky. FX nailed it with how the gun handles, it’s not a bench gun. Don’t want to screw that up too bad.

Hi boss just wondering I just bought a dreamline compact tac in 22 could I add the 25 long shroud on the 22 and add the end cap .22 will it Quieting the gun down , with out doing any thing else , I thing it looks class at that length with out adding a mod on but I’ll stay standard with the rest Apart Transfer port that’s all I want is that possible on the fx impact mod there nothing in it that’s what I was thinking loved your gun by the really nice

Having a little difficulty understanding your post. FX doesn't offer just shrouds for the compact. You will have to buy the complete .25 barrel system. Yes a longer shroud will make your gun more quiet. Especially if you install sound deadening hardware in the added space. The shroud I built for mine is like 2 inches longer than the stock one and there is no need for a mod. Gun looks clean.

Wow, it’s been over a year since I built that thing. I would have to heat and disassemble my barrel to give you all the dimensions. I really don’t feel like doing that at this time. Sorry.

I fully understand, I wouldn't tear down my gun without reason either. I was (secretly) hoping you might have saved the dimensions and saved me some research.

No problem, thanks for the inspiration though ;)

I really like your design Vetmx, so I took the liberty of copying the design.

While drawing the CAD files I figured it would be even nicer to just replace the complete shroud cone with a slightly longer version.

And also replacing the small tubes with longer versions, making the new set suited for .177, .22 and .25.

At this moment the prototype is made and tested, it just has to be anodised to match the rest of the DreamTac.

A longer version of the cone (number #4) to accommodate the use of a 27mm long plenum and 3 new tubes (number #2) for the 3 compact calibers.

.The design for the cone, only 19mm longer, the shorter conical part provides the other extra 8mm needed for the plenum.

The old and the new:

I fitted and tested it to my DreamTac and it worked out great. No loss in accuracy. I think it looks great too.

I only shot two magazines and then the part went back to get anodized, hoping to pick it up next week.

Some pics of the new cone and plenum fitted with my DreamTac .22.

Best Fittings 300cc bottle fitted, I will remove the extra 6mm spacer between the bottle and the valve. My moderator is just touching if I screw it on now.

I picked up the finished product yesterday, anodised in black.

I am really satisfied with the sets, it looks and performs really nice!

My DreamTac with the extended cone, FX barrel support, plenum and BF 300cc bottle.

I will also use this cone for a 600mm liner and a 675mm shroud (FX Crown Superlight) with an internal silencer. That will transform the DreamTac to a sniper, I think that will look nice with the fat 28mm shroud.

I've had some spare kits made, anybody interested?

With these sets you can combine a power plenum and the 28mm barrel kit on a FX DreamTac.
In fact, any FX Crown superlight barrel kit can be used in combination with a power plenum.
If you want a bottle with these 28mm shrouds you will need the Best Fittings bottle.

These kits are made from high quality alumnium (7075, black anodised) and are suitable for .177, .22 and .25 calibers (3 bushings supplied for the different liner diameters).

These kits will part from me for 60 euros, postage excluded.
I am located in the Netherlands, Europe.
If you're interested , send me a PM.
