MAKE YOUR OWN SPINNER TARGETS

I found this guy on Youtube who lead me to a guy on ebay who makes the spinner "spoons". They are extremely simple to build. Spinners are real easy and you can buy all the parts to whatever spec you want off ebay. There is a guy there very familiar with making steel spinner targets. You pick the size and thickness. Pretty much all the spinners are a spoon type shape. Hit it with the spraypaint fo your choice. You can pound on them all day with a PCP at 900fps. They are considerably better than the Chinese pot metal you buy on Amazon or the sporting goods stores.

The frames are a 1/4" or whatever size bent rod from HD or Lowes for $5 with the spinner spoons slid on the rods. You can use a variety of things for next to nothing for stops and spacings. He even shows a unique spinner you screw into a tree you can use out in the boonies and takes up almost no space. You could stick four of them in a jacket pocket while hunting.

All you need is a vise, a large wrench and a drill. I have some coming and I am going to play around with different setups.

Here is a link to a Youtube guy who shows how to make them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpUYB-1CImU&t=102s

I would post some pics but the video pretty much says it all.

Been making my own for 25 yrs. I worked in a sheetmetal stamping shop, we had thousands of slugs from the stamping press, all thicknesses and varrious shaps but mostly round. Everything from 3/8" diameter on up. A quick weld onto a stem and you have spinners!! Look around....if you have any type of metal stamping facility around give them a visit, most have buckets full they will give away just for community relations. Lots of creative moving targets made by ingenous folks if you look around.
