Magazines don't fit in the FX Impact

Ordered a couple extra .25 mags back in December that finally came in a few days ago and........they don't fit. Anyone else have a similar experience with the mags? They are just a little too thick. They slide about 1/3 of the way in before stopping. I tried each one by pushing pretty hard just to see if I could muscle them in but they are definitely not going in (maybe if i used a rubber mallet?....jk). When i have them sitting side by side on the counter you can see that the original magazine is shorter then the 2 new mags. There is a noticeable gap between the sliding top plate that is clear and the magazine body. There is no gap in the mag that came with the gun. So I'm back to using the original single mag. Was looking forward to having more shots before reloading mags. Would love to have a quick reload when shooting pigeons at the dairy farm :)
And just so everyone knows....I am happy with my Impact. Everything else is working well. I'll stop by AOA on the way home after work and switch the mags out for new ones or have them see if there's a way to eliminate the gap between the sliding door and mag body.

"Tominco"Sniperlabyo, Do you have any tips for re-assembly? I recall having some "colorful expressions" when I went to reassemble mine.
the hardest part is re-coiling the spring back, if you never done it before---your going to loose some hair. for me I adjust the spring just enough to rotate the last pellet with minimum spring tension, the OEM has to much for my liking. but if you have a semi auto your going to need that spring tension to keep up with the rapid fire mode

when the spring is attach to the lens spool I rotate and lift over the stop with just enough clearance so the spring don't come out flying., just have to remember how many turn to get the right spring tension.

"SethAZ"Oh yeah, the cost of the FX Impact magazines went up to $115 from $89.99
That is just crazy I am wanting a 22 barrel for mine and by the time you buy it and mag you have dropped a bundle. If you can even find one.
As long as people are paying it and they are that hard to get guess that is what we will have to deal with.

Can an pick up a marader magazine for $17. I understand they are a little better made but some one is getting rich.

Thanks! That's the same method I used. And BTW, most of the hair that could have been pulled is already gone! LOL!

"Verve"Reduced the spring tension on all 3 mags the same way described above, with only 1 additional full turn of tension.

Buy there are 4-5 slots in the middle of the each mag where the pellets (JSB and FX 16gr and JSB 18gr) simply do not drop in fully. Is this normal? Bisley magnums fit loose but my Impact can't group with them at all.

Where is it getting stuck??

at the plastic or the inside rotary slots??

is the shirt of the pellet getting stuck??

i have run into some bent or slightly larger skirt that
get stuck half way down--I just push them
through or remove them if they look that bad, if
im just plinking the bad ones are going out the barrel.

i just a new .22 mag---( love the finish of the .22 dark gray in color--like no black paint ) but have no time
to machine a new barrel and probe,
the dry oring prevent the plastic cover to spring back
and wants to turn the other way when fully close, that's one reason I life the internals.
just takes to long to break in without the tune.

Skirts get stuck. But if I take that same pellet out and insert in the first slot, it doesn't get stuck.

Variances in thickness of the mag wall maybe the cause or the spring tension pressure pushes the internal rotating unit in the 6'o clock (as per my picture) direction, due to a play/gap in between the middle circular bit that internal slot bit rotates around.

Your pictures , along with the information provided ( same pellet will fit hole #1 ... ) make it pretty clear, defective mag. And one would think that this type of defect WILL effect accuracy. As you have several all the same swapping them out for different ones may get you the same thing? Boring out the holes should take care of the fit in mag problem but no telling how accuracy would be affected.
I had a marauder mag like that, called crosman and they just sent a new one in a couple of days " no charge, just keep the old one". Hope yours is handled in the same fashion.
Please do keep us updated on the fix ( hopefully covered by FX/dealer asap ).

Ok, so I tried tightening the Allen screw in the middle of the mag (with hopes that it would reduce the gap and make the mag slim enough to slide into place) and it only turned about 1/2 a turn before it was totally tight, the mag still wont slide in. After looking at things for a while I was able to pull the barrel forward (after unscrewing the set screw) so that the crown of the barrel isn't protruding as much into where the magazine is sliding. Now the magazine will slide in with some effort but if I screw in the barrel set screw than I am unable to take the magazine out. Also, my first mag that came with the gun only had one pellet compartment hole that pellets would get stuck by the skirt. The 2 new mags both have 4 holes that pellets get stuck in that I need to use something to push the pellet into its compartment. Also noticed that the magazines and crown of the barrel are wearing down after seeing small flecks of metal on my finger after feeling around. So if I want to use the new magazines with the Impact, I'll need to loosen the barrel first then slide the mag in and tighten again before I take shot and then loosen the barrel when i take the mag out, which I guess is faster than loading the only mag that fits correctly every time.

This seems like a dealer fix. If you try to fix them yourself and in that process you leave marks on them and they still does not work, you are our of 2 x $115.

I would not mind fixing minor issues, but two magazines with the same issue (unless your rifle setup is irregular) requiring a complete disassembly, and a bunch of non-reversible work....it goes back to the dealer.

Take the mag apart and deburr those holes a little. Sometimes the plastic doesn't machine well. I use a proper sized transfer punch or drill bit with some very fine sandpaper like 500 grit. I deburr the holes with a small countersunk bit to just put a slight chamfer on them. Pellets drop in and out easily. FX mags can definitely be a source of accuracy problems
