Made myself a free standing "Bell Target" for 10 meter shooting

Have had this ideal in my head for a few years now, even had a few CHEEPO e-bay Butler/Counter bells that were purchased Years ago !!

Fooling with the bell assembly noted that if the striker toggle was placed at 12:00 its weight would push the striker stem outward. You could tap the bell and get a perfect RING and it would auto reset w/o issue. COOL !
Using 2 drywall screws secured the bells base to the back board noting where "UP" was & placing it dead center. Cut 3 old pieces of scrap wood to make the sides and bottom, gluing them to the back board.

The face board got a 5/8" hole aligning with the bell striker. ( Forgot, Striker stem got a 3/4" washer soldered on it ) Then added a BIG STEEL 2 1/2" fender washer having a 1/2" hole & epoxied it to the wood centered over the hole. Next layer was piece of scrap 1/4" thick ABS plastic that got a 2 1/2" hole to basically surround the fender washer keeping pellets out of the wood when ya miss ... yea misses do happen !

Bottom board of the box has a 1/4-20 blind nut in it allowing the box to be mounted on any camera tripod etc ... cup hook on the back to hang extra paper targets.

Red tape outlines the shape of a GAMO target and a binder clip holds it in place. The 10 ring of the paper target ( 1/2" ) is in perfect alignment with the hole which miens ... hit the 10 ring BELL RING !
Most shots within the black ring fall on the fender washer where pellet smashs and simply fall off the face plate. Outside of that your hitting the black ABS.

There ya are ... simple project that allows a completely portable, adjustable height target for 10 meter pistols and rifles that SPEAKS TO YOU if your shooting well

Nice work. Let's see it in action ;-)

Got a break in the rain @ 1/2 hour before sunset. Started with the P-17 shooting @ 10 shots that circled around the KZ ( all the outliers are from the P-17 )

Screw that, went & grabbed the IZH-46 and put @ 10 more on target ... much better tho low, 3 bell ringers tho. This at 10 meters BTW

From there .. I JUST HAD TO KNOW, if the target / bell would tolerate a 20 ft lb FT gun ? Moved the target out to 27 yards and grabbed my Daystate MK-3 .20 cal and took 3 shots making nearly a single hole tho off to the right a bit creating 2 of 3 as splits which still rang the bell. SADLY too much energy and the washer on striker stem bent and the splits sent pellets into the wood alongside hole splintering it too.

Easily fixed ... it is as expected, A 10 METER / LOW POWER type of target.

* In that last picture, Yes that is a .20 cal pellet fragment embedded into the wood on the right side !
