Made in the USA vs Assembled in the USA

I think Crosman uses parts globally sourced. Anyone else know?

John aka “Crosmanengineer” posted maybe about a year ago (I think on Gateway) that the Marauder was still made predominantly with USA sourced parts. Don’t know if that is still the case since I see the 2021 models are wearing walnut from Turkey. Maybe he can chime in. @CrosmanEngineer

I love Crosman brand so I hope so. I did just buy their Turkish Kral made Cayden. It looks like Crosman made the Kral better overall so I am happy with the product. The Marauder SAM is definitely on my radar but it would definitely help if it is more American than not

Outside of the Craftsman line (Krals), I believe all of their pcps are assembled in NY. Of those, parts are made by Crosman, USA suppliers, and imported.

From the SAM box:

I have to think hard to pull from my memory if I saw recently just anything with a sticker "made in US"....ok I am sitting in Canada, a first idea would be to visit HomeDepot maybe over there...

First they need to battle this:

-" The problem arises when everyone in North America wants union wages but shops at Walmart."

That isn’t a rational or even remotely applicable statement to any situation in America. So “they” don’t need to “battle” anything.

I buy American whenever possible. Many times all we have to do is check the packaging. I looked at some batteries a few days ago at Harbor Freight and they were made in China. For 3 to 4 cents more a battery I can buy Duracell made in the US. One thing I feel is misleading is the percentage of US supplied parts and labor on vehicles. The manufacturers give a number for that particular line of vehicles such as a pickup truck. In the case of Chevy Silverados you can have one made in Mexico and one made in America with the same %. By doing the calculations this way the one made in the US is pulled down by the Mexican built and the Mexican built is inflated by the US built. When I shop for vehicles I always look at the VIN. If the first number in the VIN is1,4 or 5 they are US built. 2 is Canadian and 3 is Mexican built.
