Tuning M3 Front Reg Adjust Question

The M3 manual says "Don't fire the gun with no air in it or it may damage the gun and void the warranty."

When I take my bottle off to adjust my front reg, there is about 100 pounds left in the rear reg. I ususally pull the trigger once and it shoots, then the rest of the air hisses out in the next minute or so till everything is empty.

Is this OK?

Thanks -Nate

Yes, it is OK. That is actually the way the original Impact manual tells you to empty the gun. It states to set the power wheel on minimum prior to firing. You can also turn the second regulator adjustment screw counterclockwise slightly to release the remaining air.

Thank you! I got my front reg pegged at 150, my rear reg pegged at 70 and I'm about to finish the other 3 adjustments. This gun is simple once you understand it. Can't wait to shoot some pellets!

Here are the factory tunes for the requested configurations from FX:

Impact M3 .22 caliber 600mm (Standard)

Reg 1 = 150 Bar, Reg 2 = 75 Bar, Hammer Macro = 16, Hammer Micro = 1.5-2, Valve about 4 lines, pellet 16gr @ 920-930 FPS

Impact M3 .25 caliber 700mm (Sniper)

Reg 1 = 150 Bar, Reg 2 = 95 Bar, Hammer Macro = 16, Hammer Micro = 2.5, Valve about 4 lines, pellet 25.4gr @ 930 FPS.

These numbers and settings are bond to vary slightly, as there is more than one person to tune every single rifle that leaves the factory in Sweden. Also, if you have asked your dealer to make a caliber change, then the settings will most likely what they have found the best tune at, rather than these "starting" settings provided by the factory.

also in an email from FX tech department:

Here are the default tunes, however, they are jack of all trade tunes. So they are very avg and need to be tweaked for best results.

LEGEND:

Reg 1 / Reg 2 / Hammer Macro/ Hammer Micro/ Valve adjuster knob

.22 – 18.1 gr

150 / 70 / 16 / 2 / line 5.5

The 25 gr pellets are not a standard pellet for that caliber. They like to go around 915-950 FPS

Prior to M3 coming out, I kept hearing the difference in reg pressures should be 30-40 bar but I see this post has it at 150 and 70-95. I recently got my M3 in 22 cal 600mm and it came at 130ish bar. Just curious how much if any difference that makes. I know the 2nd reg is the important one, 1st reg is more of a helper.

Here is a newbie question, I've read don't shoot the gun when the pressure is below the reg pressure. Is that referring to first or second reg? I haven't shot mine a lot yet but I thought I noticed a reduction in performance once the bottle got to the 1st reg pressure. That was when I was trying to re-tune it and that could have just been me. Thoughts?

130 bar is probably for the 600 mm Barrel versus the 700 mm barrel. FX said leave your front reg alone so I would probably leave it at 130.

Not shooting the gun below the regulator pressure is for the front regulator. Regulator one. So you would not want to shoot your gun below 130 bar. My 700 mm I would not shoot below 150 bar where my regulator is set at.

Here is the tuning guide that I made if you have not seen it yet.
