Lube your slugs??????? You probably should be..........

I'm posting this because I know it can be a shore to get a reliable Sub-MOA 100+ yard slug shooter.

I have found in in the two barrels I own in .25 cal. ( a stock Crickert and a TJ Hammer forged ) that slugs shoot 2- 3 times better with Hornaday One Shot Case lube.

Spray a "light" coat. Dry briefly. Wipe off with soft towel. Improve accuracy, easily.

This may help some of you that are trying to get slugs to group tight, that aren't having the results you had hoped for.

Some barrels may not show the same improvements.

I just wanted to share what has worked very well for me......

I’m going to try it with some silicone liquid

I would suggest making sure there's no excess lube. Towel them.

I got some negative results with "over" lubed slugs in the past. If some is good than more, must be better. NO!

I'd like to know if that does make any improvement for you're slugs and barrel/gun combo.

I use Lee liquid alox for my other cast bullets, so I just tumble my airgun slugs in it too. It works well for me.

Nice! Ever shoot any unlubed to compare?

I think I'll get some of that just to try.

I haven't. I shoot a lot of subsonic cast in my powder burners, and I always lube them. It just made sense to do it for air rifles too.

I just took a few hundred sorted 25 caliber pellets and gave them a squirt of liquid silicone. I have 4 silicone products I use on my air guns they are

1- a heavy weight jell made for scuba that is also good on orings

2- a med weight jell that is also good on oring

3 - liquid silicon I use to lube tiny orings that are difficult to get out to lube if I have a spare I will attempt to remove for lubing.

4- my newest I put som of the liquid into a spray bottle to test as a pellet lube.
