low powered (fixed/variable) short scopes

Mtc Viper Connect SL 3-12x24 typical selling price $399 every where else except for DVOR who's price range from $220 and $270 for this model every now and then.

You can opt for the $60 one piece 11 mm Mtc scope specific mount or cheaper to run two 30 mm rings of your choice at the front section of the scope.

Field of view is extremely massive on the verge of unbelievable. You really have to see to believe it. Almost zero eye relief. Included rubber eye cup helps a lot.

A video on what it is. Expect to pay 399 or more if they have them.

id go with a airgun specific scope for low power .. a scope like a gamo 4x is gonna be jam up, no longer than the form factor you mentioned and half the weight .. that said a primary arms 1-4 x 24 has an ultra fine reticle and clear optics albeit a somewhat tight eyebox, but would work fine at 10 -15y ..you could pick a wing off a gnat with that fine reticle at 15 ..

I seriously couldn't get past the look of 2 rings on the front.

So I'm using BKL Technologies 30mm singles which you can mount in a more traditional manner.

These pictured are the medium just changed them over to the low rings..

With an adjustable objective? Not that I know of. The low magnification of such scopes does not benefit from it.

Casting a wide net, suggested search terms would be “scout scope” or “long eye relief scope” or “pistol scope”

Some examples:

well will the lack of AO really affect on possible accuracy?

I have a Stryka 1-6x24 with side focus. At 6x it focuses down to inside of 10 yards for me.

Unfortunately capped turrets & a duplex reticle so not ideal for me.

They're discontinued & were closed our for around $200 a year ago. I don't know if there is still any stock floating around.

Athlon makes a 1-4.5x24 with a much more usable reticle & side focus down to 10 yards.

March has made a few or more with side focus but much more expensive.

For fixed power I've been impressed with both the Dedal Stalker 6x & the Immersive Optics 5x30. The former has fairly long eye relief, the latter fairly short. Both have side focus. Actually top focus in the case of the Dedal.

Members while i'm/were at it:

What size/type of scope you would recommend?

Probable usages of my RX2?

Pesting, short and long range (10-100yds) plinking. Would prefer a side AO though. I also think that a fixed power (now i am leaning towards fixed powered not just a low powered scope).

Why a short scope with a little 20mm objective lens on that heavy artillery? The exit pupil is too small. and field of view limited. Get 32 or 40mm. 50mm? IDK. Gonna be a heavy rig.

I have a Hawke Vanage 4-32- AO scope that's fairly small. 11.9 inches long Weights 13.1 ounces and can be adjusted down to 10 yards. I bought it at Pyrmayd Air on sale for 89.00. I use it on a Diana Chaser .22 caliber co2 rifle. Dead on at 25 yards, Great squirrel gun. Very pleased with the scope. Also, has a life time warranty. Hope this helps

Most resources advise parallax error isn't a practical concern at low magnification.

For example, from https://armament.com/content/HowToParallax.pdf :
"Typically scopes that have fixed parallax also have a lower magnification range, as parallax will not affect them as much as a high magnification optic."

So not zero, but what does that really mean? For some perspective, I took my little $10 clearance pistol scope from RWS (1.7x magnification) mounted to a Beeman P17 pistol and clamped it in a vise:

Viewing a target grid at 10 yards, I can get as much as 1/4" of parallax error by moving my eye so far off axis that the halo is just about to block the crosshair.

But by making even a cursory attempt to center my eye, the parallax error is essentially imperceptible.

I think the best deal for hunting airguns is Immersive Optics 14x50. You can use the high magnification fixed power because the field of view is about 3X wider than a normal scope. Checkout the adjustable angle rings it comes with... much better than FX no limit. These are available in lower power versions but this is the one I'd pic. $344.19 USD.
