A pair of 10 shot groups at 40 yards. JSB 15.89. Breaking in nicely with about 300 rounds through her
Damn...those are some fantastic groups at 40 yards with a non pcp rifle! Congrats! Need to think about the LGU now!
My LGU is among, if not the most, reliable of my rifles. Personally, no interest in tuning it down as it shoots great at full power but you might possibly get improvement in accuracy. That will be interesting to see reported after your change.
We LGU owners seem to be in a class of our own. Unlike many other guns that make the scene and a big splash, the LGU kind of held it down to a ripple. The factory trigger may have contributed to this when the word got out about how it could generally not be brought down to target standards.
The mods began, but by that time it was a little late in the game or so it seemed. Now the trigger issue has been well resolved once the leverage problem was discovered and worked on.
I too shoot mostly at 40 yards and I can tell you as good as your groups are, they will tighten up even more in a short time.
Mine is stock. And it’s 15 1/2 foot pounds. You might wait and shoot a few more through it and see if it settles down some more.
Out of the LGv and the LGu which one do you guys think is a better rifle for all around?
Maccari spring came and finally had some down time to install.
Whats this 'down time of which you speak?
LOL
The Sporting Walthers will definitely leave a mark in history. Technically speaking they are some of the most advanced spring guns ever built.
Sadly, the cost reflected that and the market really didn't take it.
Walther is discontinuing the Break Barrels, ALL of them, The remaining parts have been sent to the USA to make-up the RWS 3400 and 3500 guns.
The LGU, however, has remained in production for the Varmint model. How long this will last is anybody's guess.
Both models are very good, but IMHO, the LGV is the better model.
There is a lot more info about these guns in the series of blog posts I wrote since 2014, to make it easy for the friends here to find them here is a chronological list:
