Love my Swfa 12x42 MOA, but....

This is a really great scope - light weight, sharp, and I really love the rear focus, but the reticle is so fine that is often hard to find the correct crosshair aimpoint aim when shooting against a dark background. When shooting paper, or brightly illuminated targets, I love the reticle. The $300.00 price is also a plus for this scope. Anyone know of a similar scope with illuminated reticule, or thicker crosshairs? I have this scope on my .22 Wildcat, btw.

thats a great scope for the dough u spent ,,,,they have nice glass ,,,ordered one myself check out our resident guru on stocks joe wayne rhea does a hole set of videos at different price points

Yeah Hynzie, it is hard to beat the scope for the price. I've been a side focus guy, but love the rear focus, espically when you add a knob. If I want illumination, the price and weight will go up. I saw Joe's review of the 3-15 and might just have to get one when the price comes back down.

I have the SWFA 10X42 on my Wildcat. I chose rear focus to save $100. So far I have not had any problem with seeing the reticle. I do like this scope a lot and am thinking of going to the 12X42 on my Impact. Very clear glass and great construction. Hard to believe it is only $300.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, and often deal with dark forest and dark targets, so the thin black crosshairs blend in. I have spinners out at 50 yards and finding the right holdover in dark conditions can be a pain, and I'm talking about during the day, but with difficult conditions. Here are my home made spinners

LDM I have same problem here in the East Tx woods . The MilQuad is really cool but hard to pick up at times .
I kinda go back and forth from the MilDot to the Milquad . I've swapped even a couple times with guys here and on The yellow forum . Post a Want to Trade post and you can probably find someone who will swap you a Mildot scope .
Or watch the Sample list on SWFA and if they have a Mildot holler at them and see what they can work out for you . They are a great bunch of guys to do business with .
I use a 6 power Mildot on my crossbow and its easy to pick up .
