Looking for a high-end PCP that is quiet. Silencers and shrouded barrels are not allowed in Canada, and models must be modified to be allowed in the coutnry. So far I got my eye set on FX Dreamline or HW110. Any other suggestions out there?

Are you saying that any shrouded barrel is illegal, or just one that includes a moderator? And is an air rifle moderator defined in Canada as a "silencer"? If neither moderator nor shroud is allowed, you will not find one that is quiet. 

Shrouded barrels are not illegal in Canada, if they do not change the muzzle report of the rifle. If they have an air stripper installed they are removed (and replaced?) to make them compliant with Canadian law. Stupid, I know.

Yikes. All the quiet PCs are quiet because of the extended shrouds or moderators. Without them, they are all pretty darn loud. Your best bet to get something quiet will be to shoot at a low power level. A longer barrel can allow you to shoot at the same power level as a shorter barrel but uses less air to do it, thus making it more quiet. A long barreled gun is your best bet.

If you can sneak the shroud on a Taipan Long through, that would be my choice for quietest gun.

FWB ( Feinwerkbau ) Guns are extremely quiet

The BSA R10MKII is quiet as well. I have it in a .22 with no moderator quiet, with Tanto, mouse fart quiet.. I know you said no mod. just giving an expample

i have a R10SE in .177 on the way so I can tell you about it the end of this week, but I does have a Factory moderator Bonded...

As for your Dreamline, I have a Dreamtac in.25 , bottle coversion , Cranked up and it is a pretty Loud bitch without a moderator ...

I'm also in Canada, I went with Daystate redwolf. I bought from AGS. Shooting the targets is typically louder than the rifle noise.

a cobra style valve will shorten the dwell and make it a little quieter on low to med power air guns without legal troubles from Canada's legal mess

Correct, guns like impact and crown do have shrouds but they dont change the sound.

Do you have fpe requirement also to go with being quiet? According to the AEAC review on the Benjamin Maximus and Euro Maximus the Euro was very quiet because it was a less than 12 fpe gun. Both of those guns have no shroud or LDC. Based on that review it would seem either slowing the gun down and get quiet or go for power with noise. I’m sure there are guns that are better made with more precise machining that would reduce mechanical noise but I would think the pellet exiting a bare barrel would make the same noise as long as the velocity was the same

I have a factory MRod in .177 and it is mouse fart quiet.

you need a looooooong barrel (less pressure = report and the muzzle end)

and very simple to answer: a very low powered gun

if nothing is allowed that make it quieter... your are screwed.

i would consider a sub12fpe weihrauch hw100 with the long barrel

Marauder in .177cal is supposed to be the quietest available in Canada.

I am shopping around as well, not for a quiet but for a long range rifle, 100M and beyond. The best I have found (new or used) no one is allowed to cross the Canada border.

The shroud and barrel must be bond tight and cannot be separated. I even emailed couple stores "sell me the gun keep the barrel"...no one want to do that...

I have an M-Rod in 22 and it’s not as quiet as the 177 but very close. I’d go with the 177 for quietness and 22 for second choice. And they are available from most all air gun shops.
