"Dan,

We completely agree with you, china can make all the compressors now. We are no longer going to compete with the Chinese compressors and have thrown in the towel. We are effectively out of production and will continue to sell them at the 1300 dollar price for specific people like NASA that have a particular need. Parts will continue to be available but at a higher price. Please tell everyone that we appreciated their business over the years and they have been great customers.

Thanks,

Tom Kaye"

Well that is really sad and unfortunate. At their recent ~500$ price I think they really had a great thing going, because you could get a simple, reliable, and easy to service compressor. It wasn't all things to all men, but it had its "niche" in the market if you will. At 1300$ it is hard to imagine where they'd fit in, as they're not only substantially more expensive than the Altaros and aforementioned Chinese compressors, they're trying to compete with things like the Omega line of compressors too.

Boosters were on their way out when compressors under $2000 hit the USA market. I had an Altros, it takes a big compressor to run it if you don’t want to be buying compressors all the time and they don’t honor their warranty. They will give you tech support (ideas of what might be wrong and small parts) but if your unit has a catastrophic failure like mine you are on your own. With all the new compressors that have come out it should be easy to find one that fits your budget and need.
