Looking to get a Wildcat need advice.

My best bud has the MKii in .22 and I have the Compact in .25. We both shoot 100 yards every weekend with no issues. I will say this though he has lost more woodchucks than I have with good solid chest hits. They both shoot great but with the size of the gun being the same i wouldn't get the .22. I don't know about stock options but the soft touch synthetic stocks are amazing and durable. We use to shoot hanging golf balls at 80 yards (we stopped due to safety reasons) and very rarely missed many shots. I have taken woodchucks at 114 yards and birds at 130 yards with mine so I know the gun will shoot. We both run DonnyFL KOI moderators and these guns are very quite. 870fps with both, mine using 25gr JSBs and his with 18gr JSBs. My buddy didn't want to wait for the Compact and now wishes he did. 

I have the 22 wildcat i bought about 2 months before the II came out at 30 yards it wallows out the same pellet hole at 50 yards its about a 1/2" longer than that i dont know it does have a lot of drop and the wind pushes the pellet around a lot 18 jsb's but its still accurate not sure how much i have a donny fl sumo i love the gun no regrets AT ALL.

Back in March I was right where you are, .22 or .25 wildcat, I didn't make up my mind till I was on the phone with AOA! I got a walnut .25 Mk1 and have never looked back, love it ! I don't think the compact comes in anything but synthetic, also shot count will be less, there has been volumes written on this forum about how great the Wildcat is you will love it. One unexpected consequence of a .25cal. as much as I shoot it a tin of pellets only have 350 count for 25.39's and 300 for the 33.95 JSB's amazing how fast a tin goes!!! I'm in the process of getting a .22 simply because ammo is cheaper, also the .25 is very powerful for small backyards. You will be posting photos of one hole groups here also, these Wildcats are truly phenoms!!!

Don't wait for the Dreamline. Be it perceived or actual the wait will be a looonnnggggggg one. The Wildcat is a hard airgun to improve upon. Love my .25 MK1. I actually like the longer look of the .25 compared to the .22

I have a 25 MKII with SmoothTwistX liner and it is great with both 34gr MKII pellets and 25.4gr pellets.

I've made several 75+ yard shots on birds. A handful of 100+ yard shots on birds as well.

I've also made the same shots on birds with my Streamline 22.

I love my WC (full size) in 25 caliber, as I know it will get the job done on Woodchucks, Skunks and Raccoons if I don't get the best shot placement.

What I would love to get is a Crown or Impact in 22 with a Slug-X barrel liner.....I think that would be the cat's ass! The reason I say Crown or Impact is due to the ability to tune the Regulator, Valve and Hammer Spring externally. A Wildcat in 22 with Slug-X liner would be great as well, it's just that tuning isn't nearly as friendly being things have to be taken apart in order to be adjusted.

I purchased a 25 cal Mk2 Wildcat in walnut earlier this year from Utah Airguns. I was/am adamant on having the walnut stock, and do not regret that decision at all because I love the dark walnut stock that my rifle has. I originally wanted a .25 compact with a walnut stock, so I called UA and asked if this was feasible. They said it wouldn't be a problem to buy a .25 compact in walnut, as long as I was willing to pay the extra costs associated with it (they would swap the synthetic stock with a walnut stock), and be ok with the fact the rifle won't have a picatinny rail for bipod attachment. After thinking it over for a few minutes, I did not to go down this road because I decided it would be more valuable for me to have a larger air cylinder to retain shot count. If you are really committed to the .25 compact, I strongly suggest you contact Utah Airguns and talk to them about getting one with the walnut stock.

It might also be worth mentioning that if you want a walnut stock AND picatinny rail for a bipod, UA will not install a rail for you. They'll sell you a Magpul rail kit, but you're on your own for the install since they don't want to be liable for a damaged stock (and understandably so). I purchased the Magpul rail kit from them along with my Wildcat, but opted not to install it and went with the Atlas BT17 rail instead because the Atlas rail is contoured and mates up with the rifle stock's foregrip better. DIY install is pretty reasonable, though nerve-wracking when you're attacking a brand spankin' new rifle with drill bits. Let me know if there's any other questions I can answer for you.

I like the look of Sumo on Wildcat, especially on the laminate stock! Check out AirArmsHuntingSA, would love the look of laminate stock on .25 Wildcat Compact! But too bad it’s not an option.

Definitely can’t go wrong with a Wildcat with a SUMO on it.

I can honestly say that my Wildcat .25 MKI is the best weapon I've ever used for small game, including PBs. I've tried the Impact .30, the Daystate Pulsar .25, and the RAW HMx .357. There are so many factors to consider when choosing an airgun. If you are simply looking for a target rifle, the .22 has a flatter trajectory than the .25 due to its greater velocity. However, if you're also going to use your WC for hunting, the .25 has more stopping power and bucks the wind better. I also consider my synthetic stock to be more practical in the field than the walnut or laminate. I get tight groups out to 100 yards, so both are extremely accurate. I was tempted to go with the .22 due to its compactness and lightness, but I'm glad I went with the .25. But, then again, I'm a hunter, not a target shooter. I hope this helps.
