Are there any recommendations out there for a 40x or higher FFP scope that has pretty good quality for under $500? Open to used options as well. Thank you AGN community.

I really like FFP scopes and own lots of them. The problem that you run across with FFP scopes and magnification at or beyond 40x is a reticle that becomes gigantic. This is why most of the 40x,50x and 60x scopes have a SFP reticle. Unless you’re using your scope for ranging targets at different magnification levels, SFP isn’t a bad option at these magnifications.

Getting a decent clear image at that high of a magnification might be a lot to ask for under $500. I don't know of any FFP scopes at that high of a magnification. I think your best bet is to find a scuffed up used scope on one of the scope forums like Snipershide. Even then, finding good quality lenses for under $500 might be a stretch.
