Looking for recommendations

I'm currently looking for a Springer in the 12ft/lbs range, can be a little over/under. Something in .22 if not, .177 is fine. My usage will be pest control out to 20yds at the most. Also, I'd like to keep my budget to a sub $400 range. Any suggestions? Currently using a regulated PRod, but would like to use a self contained power source.

Thanks in advance,

Jay

Hi Jay. For the distance you are shooting there is a huge range of air rifles for you to choose from. My experience is that you will get the occasional dud gun but generally speaking you won’t go far wrong with any of the better known brands - e.g. Crosman, Gamo, Weihrauch etc etc. I recommend that you try out a few at your local retailer to see which gun you like best

All the best in your search. Please be sure to let me know what you decided to buy. Richardo.

Best deal for now is the AofA Brand new for only $149 Walther Parrus or Terris deals both in 177 and have wood stocks.

German quality at budget springer prices for sure. I have not seen any $150 RWS 34 deals at Cabelas someone mentioned

before. I had a tuned R9 in 177 (HW95) great gun excellent trigger but not as affordable.

Can't beat the quality and accuracy of German made springers and some which aremade in England as well.

I have both Walthers great guns with bad triggers,I also did the Cabelas deal on the RWS34P for 150.00 bucks liked the first one so much I got a second one.I also have a 34 Classic bought through Whalmart for 150.00 bucks.I have a HW97and a HW98 also a Beeman R9 also a Diana 52 love all them but I find myself shooting the 34P just as much if not more then my more expensive guns.If you can wait for the next Cabelas deal for 150.00 bucks its the best deal in air guns.Hope this helps.

Hard to beat the Terrus from AoA for $149. Great power & great accuracy at an insanely low price.

You can toss a UTG on top of it and have one hell of a rifle, ready to shoot, for $300 or less.

And the Terrus does not struggle at 40-50 yards. My family owns one, so I speak from experience.

Exceptional rifle for the price.

One other option... Archer airguns has the QB78 for less than $100. You can use any cheapo scope, add a moderator (to give yourself a whisper quiet shot) and have a very accurate, insanely cheap rifle perfect for pest control.
