Looking for LDC

Hey guys kind of stumped here. Looking for n LDC for my Flash QE .22. I contacted Donny FL he recommends the Sumo, he didn't clarify 1.6 x 6.25 or the 1.6 x 4.25inch in .25cal to prevent clipping. Figure that wld work, since I'm getting a Flash QE in .25, hope sooner than later . I heard great things about his LDC's . What I like is, the adapter is threaded. How's Rocker 1 LDC's? I haven't done no research on these, can't find em on Google . Is he email n custom built to your liking? I'm familiar with TKO, have one on my 2250B in it's quiet. If there are any other LDC's that I don't know about, throw your 2 cents in, n shoot your opinions. Thanks appreciate it .

Donny makes great stuff for sure, I have two and love them both. He's also a great guy and tops as far as customer service goes. Neil Clague also makes LDC's worth checking out, his are made to order and take a week to ten days to make but are worth it. He makes them in aluminum, carbon or titanium. They are extremely lightweight and very quiet. Can't go wrong with either one, Neil and Donny make great stuff and are both great guys. Below is a picture of the Sumo and a few of Neil's LDC's. You can't go wrong with any suppressor you buy from Donny. His designs are the most effective in noise suppression, and all the components are CNC machine-threaded for easy disassembly for cleaning and maintenance; no epoxy or permanent attachment. The fit and finish, and tolerances on his stuff are stellar. He has a wide range of adapters for virtually any gun; his suppressors do not alter the gun in any way. And if he doesn't have a line you need, he will custom-make it! I bought a Sumo and an Emperor for my FX Wildcat .25 and my Daystate Pulsar HP .25, and they are ridiculously quiet! His customer service is second to none. He is a pleasure with whom to do business and he gets the product out to you uber-quick!

I, too, bought a moderator from Donny. Bad thing is the moderator I bought from Tim Hill for my Marauder has spoiled me in the quiet game, that I had expected the same out of the Shogun for my 30 caliber Hatsan Hercules Bully. For those of you that have that gun, you all know how extremely loud that is from the factory. I purchased from Donny cause he came highly recommended from all the PCP forums. Although his Shogun did tame that Bully a lot, it’s still far from being backyard friendly. With that said, I experimented and replaced his felt wrap inside the moderator with that white foam sheet, the stuff plumbers wrap around their ABS waste pipe before the concrete slab is poured. It came wrapped around some furniture we recently purchased, and I kept some of it for something one day. Well, I’m glad I did, cause it quieted that rapport, like a lot. More like a low, “thud” sound now.

Will i I ever buy from Donny again? For sure, as his machine work is flawless, looks great, and as mentioned above his products allow one to disassemble and clean out the insides.

I like the rule of thumb that Imold and Donny both agreed on- in a big bore, 30 cal and up, velocities 950 and up, go with the Emperor. 900 and lower, go with the Shogun or others capable of a 30 cal. Makes perfect sense, as when I was questioning the sound reduction with Donny, his first question to me was how fast was it shooting. Imol’s video of his Bully with the Emperor impressed me a lot. I’m content currently with my Shogun, as I dropped its velocity to approx. 870 FPS

Bigragu,

What stuff did you put around your Shogun? Home Depot link or ?

Boomer, go to the plumbing department. Usually around all the black ABS fittings, you will see this white, styrophome wrap. What it’s designed for is when the plumbers do their under slab piping, and stub up the drain vents past the height of the finished concrete, they pre wrap their stub ups with this stuff before the concrete pour, to act as a cushion against the concrete when the it hardens. The foam allows the ABS riser to flex a bit, instead of being tightly bound against the concrete if it wasn’t wrapped.

This same material was used to protect some wooden chairs we bought. The chairs came mummy wrapped in this stuff. It’s like 1/8” thick, white, just like that plumbing wrap. It made a big difference in the rapport on my Bully. Deadened the sound big time.
