Looking for help installing a DonnyFL Moderator on my FX Crown

Hi Guys,

By chance, does anyone know where I might find a video that shows how to remove the front cap on the shroud of an FX Crown, in order to install the DonnyFL Shroud Adapter? I bought a DonnyFL Sumo moderator and want to install it on my FX Crown but I'm confused on how to take off the front cap on the shroud of my FX. The DonnyFL website reads the following:

"First you'll need a needle nose plier or dowel pins that fit into the two holes on the front cap. I am using a jewelry plier.

With one hand hold onto the shroud, the other holding the pliers, gently press inward then turn counter clockwise. It should come off without much effort. Once it loosens, use your fingers to continue unscrewing from the shroud."

I've tried this but it doesn't want to move. When pressing gently inward, it this moving or unhinging something inside the front cap? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I removed mine and took a picture of what it looks like.

No Crown here but similar applications with the spanner type holes. Insert drill bits that fit the holes well with the rear of the bit in the holes. You can drill a piece of wood or metal matching the spread of the holes of the bits. This will be a handle or just hold the bits in place and insert a screw driver between the bits and remove the end cap. Hope this helps but if done correct will remove the end cap. I have used a crescent wrench holding the bits down close the face of what ever I am removing.JMO💀

I hope you know that here are pin wrenches designed just for this task. They don't cost much and they come with different sized pins. The pins fit into threaded holes in the tool with an M9 mm thread, so you can make your own pins if you have a lathe. My point being the correct tool is less expensive than screwing up your gun........jus saying! Mickey Mouse appears to be alive and well!

One more point. Taking the shroud cap off is easy. The standard pins on the pin wrench will not fit the DonnyFL adapter because they are too short, so I had to make longer pins to overcome the length of the 1/2"-20 male threads on the adapter.
