Looking for best settings on an Imact .25

So I finally got an Impact under the roof, very happy with that :)
I was wondering whether other impact users with a .25 cal would mind sharing what the best settings are? I shoot the King Heavy MkII, 33.95gr
I see that the reg is set to 120bar. I have it on full power and the spring knob is on I|I|I .. 2,5 markers.

Would love any feedback :)

I love my Impact but the gauges aren't the most accurate. The only way to compare guns is to use a big gauge to test the regulator or compare chrony numbers. My Impact shoots 33's in the 870-880 fps.

What's up group, i too have the same question (no need to re-invent the wheel), my impact .25 should be here first week of 2017. My question was more of adjustments: is it better to max out the hammer spring setting (power wheel) and just experiment with the main valve adjustment from full open (4) to down to (2) bars? I'm planing on running thru some pellets all JSB's of course .25, MK1's, and MK2's. Believe 50 yards is ok (but 1/4 to 1/2 inch is just expected if we do our part) i will be doing most testing at 75 and some at 95 yards. As for speeds i'm guessing the goal is to achieve about 900 FPS with what ever shoots the best?

Hi, wow thx for the feedback. So I might have a gauge that isn't functioning correctly or my gun was not set up all that great in the factory.
I suppose I could shoot the gun until the bottle pressure is about ~150 bar, then see if the adjusting the reg up to 150 shows up on the gauge of the reg en dry fire the gun to see if both gauges lockstep down as air is being depleted.
That's gonna be a pain to pump up again :p

If that fails, it's the gauge and I should invest in a whatchacaallit that measures FPS and work it out backwards from there.

Hey,... side not.. I've got air hitting my cheek from time to time, since the gun is set up to be very careful with air I suppose that is no bueno? Anybody else that has that problem?

Cheers

The air hitting your face is either coming from the breech seal in the barrel or the seal at the end of the valve stem you cam.see the end protruding slightly beneath the magazine, ive just changed mine out,if you jave an extending shroud you can check the breech seal with that, makensure mag is removed and rifle unloaded, but your thumb over the muzzle end of the shroud and push the shroud in ,if you have a leak you will easily hear it
My setting are power on max and valve stem at ab 3.25 it doesnt make any difference to power abover 3.25.. running 31 g barras at 9.20....25g jsb @990 hope this helps

Impacts are very simple to work on,as long as you have got some spare o rings to hand, the hardest o rings to replace are the 2x1 on the reg adjuster, ive made a tool slightly wider than the reg adjuster ,from a syringe with a curved end, just lube the part of the syringe amd the o ring and just slide them up and over onto the reg adjuster a 5 min job..

Don't trust the gauges supplied on most FX guns. My Wildcat came with a fill gauge that was 12 bar off, and AOA sent me a replacement and I specifically asked them to make sure the gauge was accurate before they sent it. The gauge they sent me is 10 bar off in the other direction from the original one. The guy at AOA said that within 20 bar doesn't really concern them. They get concerned when the factory gauges show 50 Bar off. 50 BAR!!! That means they are reading nearly 750PSI off. I have decided that it's not worth it to try and get another one. My guess is that if they are 10-50 Bar off on the wildcat then they can easily be off just as much on the Impact. I doubt they are giving you more accurate gauges.

Oh really...
Well djeez thats a bit poor, why pepper the gun with gauges and tout great adjustability when the instruments on board cant be trusted to make fine adjsutments.

I just fiddled with the power knob to make sure its really nicely compressed when its on max power... it was way off, too much slack. The gun is slightly more ..err.. barky.

Not sure what to think about thise gauges. Incorrect gauges defeat the purpose.

I found them to be consistent though so if you know where the right pressure is on your gauge. I would use the big gauge on the fill tank to find the correct pressure.
Take your gun down to 120 bar and fill slowly. Note where the regulator gauge needle stops moving and see what the fill tank gauge reads. That's your regulated pressure if fill tank is accurate. Then fill to 250 bar according to fill tank and note the needle position on the bottle gauge.
