Currently looking at Diana rws 34 and the hatsun mod 95. Need an accurate gun for squirrels at 20-30 yards. Currently have a gamo whisper in .177 and it’s all over the place. I do not want to waste money again, any info on these guns or others would be appreciated. Leaning towards the hatsun because of price atm.

That Gamo Whisper should be plenty enough for only 20-30 yards especially when you use the proper scope and pellet it likes. That Camo should be able to shoot nickle sized groups at 30 yards maybe quarter or SusanB Dollar sized if you're a bad shot with the right scope and it's preferred pellet. Yo!

I’ve been messing with it for a year and half always to the same result, sight it in and after 10 or so shots it’s off. 3 different scopes, different scope mounts etc.

Buy weichrauch hw50s a little more expensive but will be accurate even past that distance and trouble free for many years or decades.

Please list every scope every mounts and best pellets tested that gave you the best groups. Have you tightened up all of the screws? Have you cleaned the barrel? Yo!

Little while, I think somethings up when you break the barrel it doesn’t go back the same way. But then again I’ve been shoot whatever pellet I can grab the fastest when i see a squirrel , I’m going to sit down and shoot it for a while again before a buy another.

TIGHTEN UP ALL YOUR SCREWS AND BE MINDFUL YOUR BARREL SCREWS ADJUSTED AND TIGHTENED EQUALLY ON BOTH SIDES CENTERING THAT BARREL BREECH TI THE GUN BE SURE YOU HAVE A QUALITY SCOPE MOUNT WITH A SCOPE STOP OR BUY BKL 1 PIECE DROOPER MOUNTS THEYRE THE BEST. USE A PEN TO SEAT THE PELLETS BEFORE SHOOTING IT. SEAT THEM EXACTLY THE SAME ALL THE TIME. PUSH THE PELLET TILL THE PEN STOPS. SHOOT. PUSHED TOO FAR IN? TRY A DIFFERENT PEN. YOU WANT THE PELLETS TO SEAT JUST A HAIR OR 2 IN THE BARREL SO IT IS NOT FLUSH BUT INSIDE A LITTLE MAYBE A LITTLE DEEPER THAN YOUR FINGER LOADING IT. REMOVE THE POINTED INK CARTRIDGE FIRST. ONLY SHOOT THE PELLETS THAT GIVE YOU THE TIGHTEST GROUPS. DONT SHOOT THE PELLETS YOUR GUN HATES. GOOD LUCK. Yo!

It’s grouping for the most part still some flyers high and low, ive notice some pellets have resistance going into the barrel and some go more freely. Using Crossman piranha 10.5 grain. Is there a brand of pellets more consistent on size? I think that’s what is causing the flyers . Btw thanks for the help man, I think that was my problem using random pellets

First off, as was mentioned, make sure the stock fasteners are tight. Are they coming loose after doing so? What distance was that target? What scope are you using ? From the looks of that target it also could be a hold issue. Describe how you hold/rest the rifle ? Consistent hold is very important when shooting springers. How many different pellets have you experimented with ? Sorry for all the questions. Also, welcome to the AGN forum Jonathan!

That was 20yrds shot from rest, im a really good shot with .22 rifles and high powered rifles. I’m confident in saying the high and lows are the gun/pellets, it did put 5 in a quarter size hole though so that’s an improvement. Everything is tight on the gun. I think it’s what yo said about the pellets being the same every time. I think the cheap cross man pellets are not consistent, I need some match grade. But I’m happy looks like I don’t need to buy another gun.

Shooting powder burners and springers accurately are two different things. Rest the forearm on a sandbag at the balance point. Usually between the front of the trigger guard and the start of the cocking slot of the stock. Rest the butt of the stock on a sandbag as well. Try different shouldering holds. Try tight holds. Try loose holds. Same with your pistol grip hold. I have found that looser holds work best but everyone is different. Learn your trigger and breathing techniques. Try different pellets.

If you're shooting CROSMAN Piranhas those are some of the CRAPPIEST PELLETS ever made. Go and try the CROSMAN Premier Hollpwpoints CPHPs the cheap ones from Wal-Mart. CROSMAN Premier ULTRA MAGNUMS only a few bux more even better yet. I bet that should shrink your group size. Throw those Piranhas away or just use them for PLINKING at inatimatate objects. Yo!

If you buy another I'd get the RWS. I think you will get more for your money in the long run, the build quality should be much better.

Those deformed Crosman Walmart pellets seem to be designed for ... people who don’t understand airgun ballistics. I’m going to jump on the pellet choice bandwagon here too. It sucks having to buy so many pellets to try but for starters you can try JSB RS pellets. I think those would shoot well in your gun, they’re my magic go-to pellet for PITA or magnum springers. Longer range and longer term, it’s more variable so you’ll just have to experiment. Go to Pyramid air and prefer some JSB or HN domed pellets with different weights. Domed. I’m impressed with how tight you’ve already got it. I’ve got a killer offer right now on a gamo hunter elite so I’ll hopefully be fighting my own gamo break barrel accuracy testing soon.
