Local gun shop handing out free ballistol wipes and something funny.

So a gunshop we just went to was handing out these wipes. I was stoked because these are going to be great for my airgun range bag. I didn't know they made wipes. Anyway there was something funny I noticed was on my receipt. So in CA they run your background check every time you buy ammo and they charge you a dollar. Look what this guy put on the receipt.

It’s a pay to play tax, similar to every other normal working economy all over most of the modern industrialized nations on the planet. Meanwhile California is the 7th highest grossing economy in the world. So again...

On that logic you ought to be taxed extra for posting here. Say $1 a post :)

Doesn’t that statement seem ridiculous,

even to you?

Yes it does, that is my point...

So many Californians have moved into certain areas of Montana that Bozeman is now called Boze Angeles by the locals. Not everybody is jumping for joy over the change in demographics.

A local realtor recently sold 7 houses in one week in my small town of population 2000. A Billings realtor who is a friend of my brother-in-law is selling houses to Californians sight unseen at the asking price without any haggling. At least my property value is going up, among all the negative things that are happening.

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
Cos I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
Cos I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet

Taxman!
Cos I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

Don't ask me what I want it for
If you don't want to pay some more
Cos I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
Cos I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

And you're working for no one but me
Taxman!

So the ammo tax is something completely different but that is also happening. This is a fee for the privilege of getting a background check every single time you buy ammo. It's gross and wrong. The constitution is just a piece of paper acknowledging that our rights are God given and not given by government. We somehow forgot that as Americans and we constantly allow the tax man or the Alphabet org or homeland security or whatever the case may be this week to trade safety for freedom. They always say it's for our own good. We have a problem with "Gun violence" they say and so we need to infringe on your God Given right to protect yourself. Or for that matter any other right. Free speech is under attack because of dangerous hate speech. 2nd amendment is under attack because "Gun violence" the 3rd and 4th because we need stop and frisk because we need law and order. This isn't just a problem because of the left either. I've heard alot of "conservatives" call for the 4th amendment to go away because of all the steer thugs so we need cops to be able to pull over anyone suspicious. Bringing this back to airguns I recently saw a post about a new bill in Canada that would ban all airsoft and airguns because someone used one in a crime. Guys the government is always going to push more and more. That's what government is. The real problem is allowing them to convince you there is a problem significantly serious that we need to take someone else's rights away. Sadly many people will just go along as long as it does not affect them directly and that's how they keep getting away with it. Southern CA people constantly vote for higher bridge fare because they don't live where thier is toll bridges for example. It's time to get serious about liberty in my opinion. You could vote to outlaw skateboarding in your city for example because they are super annoying and keep waxing your favorite planter at work but next week it will be the skateboarders turn to outlaw airguns because he thinks your annoying. Anyway my 2cents.we should always vote for liberty even if it's for someone you disagree with. Airguns have got alot of heat recently where I live because of the consideration of adding big bores to hunt deer. Alot of powder burner guys are voting against it because they don't understand what airguns can do and because they don't want more competition for tags and seasons. Don't be that guy.

Wow, you are paying 8.375% state sales tax as well as state income tax? No wonder so many Californians are moving to Texas.

Yes come on down to Tejas. While we don’t have state income taxes, we do have a 8.25% sales taxes. We also have really high property taxes, mine are up 130% in 13 years, that would be $4300, for 2020, appraisal value $178,000 (house value only up 30%). My home insurance is triple in those years, to $2200 a year. My car insurance is over double. A second home in Portland Oregon would be in the $500,000 range before it hit $4300 a year in property taxes. My taxable income for state purposes if I lived in California ($15,000) is a little over $200. Unless you’re rich, then none of what I said really matters. There, the richer you are, the more you pay. Here it’s catch as catch can. By the way my county has violent crime arrest rate of under 33%, property crime arrest rate under 19%, our county junior college is up 500% in 23 years. Unless those things don’t matter, then disregard.

You know what, seems like you’ve already missed the show, maybe pick another place. If you do come, bring some water and a generator, we are unregulated, and our resources are already over stretched.
