List of scopes compatible with spring powered airguns?

wondering if anybody has compiled a list of scopes (on paper or in their head) that would be compatible with the recoil of a spring powered airgun??

i need a scope for my AA TX200 that has Tony L’s 22mm piston kit installed, 11.5 ft lb range. Was waiting for the Bushnell 6-24x50 Match Pro scope to be released in late April 2020. Called Bushnell and they said it wouldn’t hold up to the double recoil.

I liked the scopes from Primary Arms but received a response to my email inquiry stating that nothing in their lineup would withstand the recoil.

I have a Weaver V-16 w/ fine crosshairs on my R1 since about 2003 that has held up without flaws. Now I would like to have a scope in the 18-24 magnification range, illuminated mil-dot/tree reticle, illuminated, side focus.

I am leaning right now towards the Falcon s18i 3-16 x50 which would be fine, I believe. Nick @ Falcon said it would withstand spring guns. Also the idea of having a UK airgun with UK mount (SportsMatch AOP56) and a UK scope is semi appealing.

Anyone have some suggestions that are known to withstand spring guns?

stay healthy, Ron

This has been asked repeatedly and nothing ever comes of it because spring guns trash most all scopes even if they are spring rated. Yet there are those with this or that scope on their guns that have held up for quite some time while others with the same scopes have had them fail. I have had at least six scopes fail on my Diana 45 among them a UTG Accushot, Hawke Airmax and a Falcon Menace. Yet others have stated theses same scopes are holding up on their spring guns. So it is very difficult to get a good feel of what really werqs. Myself I finally put a Diana Bullseye mounts on my springers and have had no problems since but with a bit more than a thousand rounds through it it is still to early to tell if my now 54 will trash a scope. Yet there are some that claim the mount affects their accuracy and they are junk but I shot these groups with it installed and they look great.

I was able to repair three of my damaged scopes this way.

I wish you the best in finding a scope that your springer will not kill. Sounds like you have something lined up as long as it has a decent warranty I would go for it.

The Falcon S18i 3-18x50 is an awesone scope.

It has so many details done just right.... 😊

🔶In comparison it has a huge field of view at 3x — more than most 3x scopes. Great for close range hunting (focuses down to 10y) — and still enough magnification for 100 yard hunting.

🔶80 moa elevation adjustment range — more than most in its class. Great for heavy projectiles and/or long ranges, even with lower powered guns (say 15-25FPE).

🔶10mil-per-revolution turret (instead of uneven and smaller numbers like 6x and 5x).

🔶Excellent illumination control wheel.

🔶Turret revolution counter.

🔶Numbered reticle hash lines — with a, for me great balance between "too thick" and "too thin".

🔶I like the glass!

🔶Testers and users found the turrets to track reliably.

After looking at 100's of scope specs ($500 and under) — this one came out on top.

I had to wait for mine half a year. It was worth it.

Have a side focus wheel coming already.

What's good for hunters isn't so good for field target and people who'd like to range using the parallax.

The Falcon's parallax focuses rapidly, meaning with very little turning you get the image sharp.

For parallax ranging (I assume that's what the sidewheel is for) you'd want the opposite — a "long slow" focus — ideally a full 360° for parallax from 10y to infinity.

Just wanted to mention it. I think Falcon even says on their webpage that this scope is not made for field target.

For the features of a long parallax and the scope image "popping into focus" as the FT guys call it — I'd ask in the field target sub forums. (This is very specialized user knowledge that the manufacturers are not giving anywhere, as far as I have seen.) 😊

Happy scope shopping! And stay well in the virus crazyness.

Thanks Intenseaty, Matthias and John.

I haven’t purchased the Falcon yet so I am not out anything except a 3D printed wheel.

I will look at the Falcon page again!! LOL as well as Element and also Sightron

edit: I cannot find where Falcon suggests not for field target use. But I do notice how the side focus/parallax knob adjustment is very coarse if you will.
