LGV, What is all the Fuss About?

OK guys. All of y’all, thanks for all the advice. I took the plunge all the way in. I hope I like it, otherwise someone will eventually get a great deal on a total setup.

On order: 1 LGV 23J in .177, Vortek kit, variety of pellets, and a Rowan Engeneering trigger. Just need some glass. Any thoughts on glass?

I have an swfa ss sitting on mine and I couldn’t be happier. Great glass for around $300. I paid a little less for mine though as it was a demo.

Stock lgv spring and top hat = an average of 694 FPS over 5 shots. 11.06 fpe. Shot with JSB 10.34.

Thank you. Kinda null for me now, as I got the 23J. Which will be here on Monday, as in 2 days. Freaking thing is in KY already!

I will pretty please need you to tell me what to do with that Vortek, as I have never done this stuff before. I’m hoping to tame it down to about 13, that would work for me I think.

I don't know, a bloke goes away for a week redclawing and a bit of piggin (no internet) comes home and intenseaty has gone and bought an LGV. What's the world coming to and a 23 joule version to boot. Well done mate need some pics when she arrives.

It’s very easy, the dog holds onto one ear, you lift the rear leg opposite to the dog and stick him through the heart. Death is instantaneous.

On the subject on waiting for your airrifle to arrive I had ordered my new Diana 56 in November and when we got home yesterday I rang the gun shop to see what was happening. Apparently it’s just been checked by customs and hopefully in two weeks I’ll have it. It’s funny you know it take one week for your pellets to travel from Victoria and two weeks for your airrifle.

LOL. Hey, I’m supposed to be getting everything today. If you would be so kind, I need Idiots Guide to installing that Vortek. I think I can manage the takedown and re-build. Just need to know what adjustments the Vortek needs and or what to include or leave out. Should I remove the grease? Do I need any other kind of lube?

It’sssss here! No time to play, but shooting jsb 10.34s at 750ish or 760, can’t remember. Good groups at 30. Out of box no cleaning or nada. Will post later on.

I can tell you that I was pretty impressed with the shots today. And that was just farting around.

So, my calculations yield 13.26 FPE out of this model using jsb 10.34s

Starting to see what all the fuss is about. Hit my 1” spinners 3 x in a row with 7.9gr CPHPs followed by another 3 hits by my 11Y/O son, first time on the trigger with this burly hunk of steel. I think it’s got potential.

Very nice, I got one a few weeks ago. How does the barrel look in the bore/rifling. Is it smooth clean any chatter marks roughness?
