Has anyone used a 50' adapter from leupold? In the past I have considered buying one and wonder if the make a scope blur or change the image.

The old ones worked fine. Then they apparently got discontinued for a while and were hard to find however Midway USA has them IIRC for $49.
Here's the issue they changed the front objective threads back in 2003-2004 for Gawd knows why so it won't thread all the way on if cross applied new vs old and vice versa. Found that one out the hard way trying to swap sunshades with an old Leupold scope and a current one threads on less than one turn and won't stay put and falls off. Wouldn't you know it!!! It clearly says it right here!!!

Thank you, I have both Vx and VariX and know the thread difference. I have even found a better price than Midway. I was mainly interested in the optical change if any. Also I wondered if people that have used them leave them on when shooting say inside 100 yards or only use them under 20 yards.

They don't leave them on when shooting outside since its like using reading glasses.

Leupold 50' adapter is just that. I only use it when shooting in my garage at 50', it works great. Past that, target is out of focus.

Thank you for the reply. When you use this. Where do you set the scopes parallax? on infinity? or on a low yardage?

I have a 4-18 with a dot and target turrets on a 7mm-08 that says 50 but I tried 30 on the back porch and it would turn down just a touch more. I will stick the adapter on it when it comes and see where all I could use it.
