Crosman Let's show off our Crosman pistol builds!

Almost done! I'm calling it the Benjamin "Silhorauder" BP2202P. This build has been a little challenging for me. Haven't got a lot of experience or skill in this area. So go easy with any criticism. Still have to do some tuning. Haven't gotten to shoot it over the chrony yet.

Man you shouldn't apologize for a thing. That is a super clean looking build. And as long as you build it to meet your needs and please you each time you shoot it, who cares what others might say? I think it looks really great. We need details man! Did you just cut down or shorten a stock PRod or is that a 1701 airtube or something? The carbon fiber is a real nice touch :)
What's your fill pressure? How many shots you getting from a fill?

Thanks

Ray

Well thank you. I don’t want to take away from this thread too much so maybe I’ll post a new topic with more details at some point. this isn’t a completely unique build. There’s at least one other out there that I’m aware of, although I wasn’t aware of it until after I started on my build. A guy that goes by FuzzyGrub on GTA did a similar build several years ago. I think he’s a member here also.

But to answer your question it is a cut down Prod with a 1701 air cylinder. So it’s basically a merger of a Silhouette 1701P and Marauder Pistol BP2220, hence the name Silhorauder BP2202P. So it’s a 3000 psi fill just like the Silhouettes and Prods. Everything inside the gun came from the stock Prod and its unchanged at the moment. I just got my grips yesterday from Vernon which a gorgeous and today I finally got the front sight mounted. What a PITA that was. I’ve only shot a couple magazines through it so far. It’s not even sighted in and haven’t shoot anything over the chrony yet. So I don’t have any numbers. I maxed out the power adjuster just because and it’s just too much. Went from 3000 psi to 1000 psi in just 8 shots. And looouuud! Definitely going to need the TKO for backyard plinking for sure.

Obviously I don’t expect to get as many shots as a stock Prod would. This is just a messing around fun gun anyway. FuzzyGrub claims his pistol get 16 shots at 16 fpe which sounds good enough to me so I think I’ll make that my goal as well.

I know many guys probably asking why? I know all about the other options and that I could have just bought a purpose built out of the box ready to use pistol like the new PP750 for a lot less and got more power and more shots per fill or I could have just come up with the $1000 and gotten a better quality Ataman or Ocelot with more power and shots per fill. But that’s just not want I wanted. The experience was the main part of this build and I’m pretty happy with it and myself and looking forward to working on it some more and getting it set up where I want it.

This build is against the grain with the shortened barrel. Discovery front sight, LPA mini rear sight, wood grips, brass bling. Wanted a pistol for simple/off-hand 10m plinking that would fit a normal holster. FPS be d*med! Custom shop 2300KT with the aforementioned mods. I did have it engraved with "2240" just because. Went with.22 as Crosman pellets are dirt cheap from wally world. Its loud, slow, but feels good and well balanced. 😉

Hey Ernie

Glad to hear your getting back into the groove :)

I remember years ago on the Green with you and BIO giving us newby airgunners a goal to try and attain.

Along with SteveV, you old Green guys really know how to make a Crosman pistol into a functioning work of art.
