Just got MadMax back from Joe Garland. The Curly Maple stock turned out great, fits my hand really well. He added some carbon fiber and a muzzle cap to the barrel as well. Cant wait for this FT season to start but I only have one Pistol FT match lined up right now.

What is that grip? It’s gorgeous!

I think this is from Thailand, selling on ebay, indeed a very nice grip.

Love the Crosman 2240/2250 platform! Got his one for my son 20 years ago. Used it for years then it sat in a closet until about 5-6 years ago. The mod bug bit and it now has steel breech, extended probe, TKO, Magnum Airpower 2260 PCP tube, valve, filler gauge. Huma regulator. Trigger group replaced with wide roller trigger and adjustable spring and an adjustable hammer spring cocker thingy.

I shoot it as a pistol or carbine depending on where I'm going. I take the TKO and carbine stock off when using as a pistol for ease of handling/packing. Please forgive me: I know...this is a pistol forum...but the 2250 can go either way. Here it is with the shoulder stock.

Nice build there breaux!

As far as I'm concerned, the 2250/2400 format is a rifle as well as a pistol: it just depends on the configuration -

That appears to be a "Sheridan" tube, with maybe a MagnumAirpower filladapter/gauge set up?

I also have one of the Airmagnum 2260 tubes, and it has the pressure gauge in the Disco location.

ROCK ON!

Thanks, yep...magnum air power 2260 tube, fill port/Guage. My daughter says it looks "steam punk" what with all the mix match stuff, tubes, guage, etc.

WIld looking build you have there sir.

Can you tell me if you noticed much of a drop in FPS when using the breech riser as opposed to not using it?

Thanks
Ray

Ray,

I couldn't really tell you because I've not shot it without the riser. Its tuned to 12 fpe for pistol FT and all Crosman stock parts. I did the bottle conversion and shortened the barrel. This started life as a Maximus lol.

It could be much more efficient with the air consumption but it has a 4500 psi bottle and only has to make 40 shots. So far I know it does better than 80 on about a 4k fill.

What pressure are you regulated down to? And since it started out as a full size rifle, did you change the normal things to tune it down? Such as lighter hammer and smaller transfer port? It really is a cool looking rig.

Thanks

Ray

Yep it's a $46 regulated bottle with a $45 bottle adapter and another $45 riser. The 4500 psi bottle is just big enough it interferes with the barrel.

Its actually not tuned at all except for the home made power adjuster I call a "lamp knob power adjuster" because it's made from a lamp knob found at the hardware store. The transfer port is icemaker tubing if I remember correctly. The valve is untouched as is the hammer spring. The gauge for regulated pressure shows 1100 psi.

Interestingly it was such a good pistol I bought another used Maximus and made my son one like it. His has a secondhand Gauntlet 3k bottle and doesnt need the riser. Have about $250 into mine without the glass and new stock. His is under $200. I shot it terribly offhand with the cut down Maximus stock so I'm hoping the new wood stock will help a little
