Crosman Let's show off our Crosman pistol builds!

This was a 2240 pistol when I bought it used, but in rough shape with BAD gunsmithing. I had to refinish the badly scratched Don Cothran stainless steel tube and breech, discard the chopped-short pistol barrel, install the rifle barrel (that was just sitting in a drawer anyway), and (eventually) find the custom carbine stock on an auction site. She shoots as good as she looks; 1" groups at 50 yards with 14.3 grain JSBs at 600 FPS (adjustable).

I cobbled this one together this afternoon, gonna keep her iron sighted.

Crosman CS 2400 tube w/Hi-Pac, B&A brass bulk fill valve w/disco valve stem/2240 valve front end.

Crosman short breech w/.LPA sight, 12" Mellonair prepped Crosman .22 barrel -

Aftermarket stiff hammer spring. Need to chroni her, but a hoot to shoot at 20 ft. in garage - She's penetrating 1" planks!

Nice HiPac 2400 Steve. I'd like to hear crony results when you get a chance. Here's mine (she also has a Mellonair prepped Crosman .22 barrel)-

And I bet that 1720 carbine is one HELL of a shooter; ain't she Shutik?

Got a chance to get some chroni numbers on the 2400 hi-pac yesterday evening - she's VERY LOUD - but so were all the fireworks going off in the 'hood, so no sweat.

This first string is with the really stiff aftermarket hammer spring and approx. 2500 psi, all I had in my in my tank - Crosman 14.3 hp from the tin

803, 806, 793,792,778,767,757,743,73,714

Too much of a velocity spread, so I used a shortened Disco hammer spring and a Challenger pa screwed all the way in. No hs coil bind, GROOVY!

Filled to 2500 psi again, with these results:

731, 748, 764, 768, 772, 771, 770, 762, 756, 749

Now bear in mind, one can back off on the pa and/or lower the fill pressure for a whole different set of numbers.

Now I need to just have some fun with this iron sighted hand cannon.

Wish I had some more space. In the yard that is.
