Leshiy "preview"

It's a nice looking pistol but that break-barrel single shot design is why I moved away from springers and bought a pcp gun. It's not a very ergonomic, quick or fun way to set up the next shot. It gets old very quickly.

The metal-work is very nice. If they made a multi-shot version, I'd be excited by it. Edgun makes some beautiful and original air gun designs. They're never boring to look at and always accurate.

As it stands there are more exciting similar guns available. Specifically, the WARP - compact, powerful, multi-shot, bottle fed and uses AR furniture. Doesn't look as nice but whatever. It does the same job and probably with more shots per fill. The Ataman pistols and Ultra Compact are another set of multi-shot options with similarly uses.

I'd like to know what's going on with the Lelya. It's far more appealing to me. I got excited when I saw that there was going to be a 25 cal. I love the look of it (just like almost everyone else) but I could only see .20 cal versions for sale anywhere when I searched. I was in the market for a compact bullpup recently and ended up buying a Mutant Shorty because it was available and in a caliber people want. I'm dying to buy an edgun and the Lelya would have been top of the list if they could sort out their supply to America. They never seem to be available when I'm ready to buy...

"wyshadow"I believe the gun is geared towards a survival gun. No magazine means less moving parts. Made to be extremely compact, rugged, and durable backpack gun
There is always a reason given for guns being single shot: "it's for accuracy, "it's a target gun", "it's for survival" etc but there is no scenario where I won't want a repeater.

Here are what I see as the facts:

- We don't live in a post apocalyptic walking dead style world. There is no reason to make sacrifices as if we did

- There are single shot trays for repeaters which do the same thing if I ever felt that need (never happened)

- The extra moving part in a repeater is the indexing pin and they can and do break but, when they do, I just index the mag by hand which is still far quicker and better than hand loading every pellet

- follow up shots might be useful in a survival scenario. You don't want to get eaten while fumbling around trying to load the next pellet.

- pellets are tiny and I don't enjoy loading them so I want to get it out the way early

- loading pellets in a break barrel means breaking position which is not good for groups

- a crossbow would be a better survival tool than any air gun as arrows can be reused and no air source is needed.

Incidently, that thing has a folding stock / folding air tube. Sounds like an additional moving part to me. Plus, it's a new design which makes it more likely to go wrong. I don't want to be testing a new design during the end of the world n stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I like the look of it and all Edgun products, I just won't buy the single shot versions. I was happy to see Ed bringing out multi-shot versions of the Matador and Lelya. Hopefully he'll do the same with this eventually.

More importantly, they need to sort their supply side out. They announced a new American distributor to solve this issue. I just looked on their site and everything is sold out apart from two 22 cal Matadors. I have more air guns in my small collection than they do in North America right now according to their website...

Sorry guys I did not understand a word she said, did anyone else? lol Just kidding, but it would have been nice to have text translating what she was saying so we could read about all of the features. Looks like a neat little pistol but if the other Edguns are anything to go by it is most likely pricey, not that it would put too many air gunners off, except for us poor folks!

A lot of people seem to miss the fact that the Leshiy can be had with 2 different barrels, a 250mm or 350mm. With the 350mm barrel this gun is still Compact enough to fit my standard 25L backpack with no issues. I also have a small 480cc Carbon Fiber fill station I can put in the very same backpack for all day shooting.

With the 350mm barrel it only has a 40mm shorter barrel than the Cricket Compact wich is a gun I happen to own, I have done some sweet groupings with that gun at 50 and my best group to date is .33" CTC at 58 yards. And how much difference in accuracy can 4cm barrel length make?

"Verve"Main thing is reliability and accuracy. As for purpose, the customer decides if it fits theirs or not.

Price in EU is €1,100 with 250mm barrel.

Exactly.
Nobody could disagree that those things are crucial. You certainly wouldn't buy an expensive air gun without them. As there are multiple accurate and reliable air guns though, don't you also look at other criteria? I know I do.

If accuracy and reliability were the only criteria, would you honestly choose a pistol with a new design over a solid rifle with some weight and barrel length plus a proven design?

I would say that the main reason to buy a Leshiy is it's size and looks. Time will tell but for pure accuracy, you'd probably be better with a Matador or Morana from the Edgun line-up. They all look pretty suite though.
